Welshpool & Llanfair Loco Drawings

Post by rwaceyw »

I now have drawings for the following locos:

No.2 Countess.
No.8 Dougal
No.10 Sir Drefaldwyn
No.12 Joan
No.14 No. 85
No. 15 Orion

And also one of the Sierra Leone coaches.

I appreciate some of the above have been modelled, but if you need the drawings for anything at all give me a shout :)

David,

The Dougal drawing would be very helpful. I have a drawing of the original batch of Provan gasworks locos, which is what my model (in-progress a few posts below) is based on. I was going to estimate the extent of the differences for a Dougal derivative, but if you have a drawing that would be much better.

I can take photos next time I am at Llanfair Caereinion, if you need them. I will be there towards the end of the month - let me know what you would like.

Patrick,

If I could take your offer as applying to me, I would find the following Dougal pictures very useful - if he is out of course!

A view of the boiler backhead - people always show the front of engines!

A closeup of the works plate - to use as a texture

A square on view of the smokebox door

A square on view of the bunker - if it is still lettered for Provan gasworks.

Don't feel under the slightest obligation to do any of this.

Thanks again

Andrew -

But of course - very happy to do so. I use a reasonable digital camera so can email you large JPGs of what you want. I will try and do all four elevations, the motion, the drivers (the wheels that is) and the other things you requested. If the images are too big for you, I can send you them on floppy.

Last time I was up Dougal was in the workshop, but this may have been due to the abundance of other locos around the yard, including the borrowed banana, the new Taiwanese diesel, the splendidly repainted Ferret and the long-term Romanian. All getting rather busy down at LC!

I expect I can get the images to you end of June. OK?

Andrew -

I now have 20-odd pics of Dougal for you. He is in the workshop slightly dissassembled, so the pics are not of a 100% complete loco! Also the angles and lighting were not ideal.

I can email them to you privately or post them as links here - which would you prefer? What resolution would you like (I ask as not everyone has the benefit of Broadband).
