Ffestiniog Rly Passenger Brakevan no 1

Post by kevmt »

Just a quick note to say that both a MSTS version (below)

and a TRS2004 version (below)

of the Ffestiniog Rly Passenger Brakevan no 1 are now available from the Ffestiniog Rlys website at :-

http://www.festrail.co.uk

No 1 has just been superbly rebuilt by the railways' Boston Lodge works and will receive its public debut at the National Railway Museum's "Railfest 2004" between the 29th May-6th June 2004.

The TRS2004 version requires the SP2 service pack update and features opening sliding doors.

Also now available is Rfairlies updated Britomart (for those who have not already downloaded it from this site).

Cheers

Can I just say Brilliant models, don't have Traiz YET (not enough space on computer at the Mo) but the more NG stuff there is the more I am pursuaded to buy it and a new HD. Liked the download speed off the FfR site Nearly 50K ten seconds and bothe CRV and Britomart were downloaded, THATS FAST.

Thank you for another excellent model :)

MSTS version downloaded and ready for a test run. I don't have TRS2004 (only the first version), but the opening doors look cool!

Many thanks for the comments :)

Must admit I am a fan of TRS2004, and it does allow different things to be achieved then is possible with MSTS.

As an example, it's now possible to have passengers appearing in carriages (with automatically opening doors)

(Yes, I do now that its running on std gauge track  )

Hopefully, my next Trainz project will be a set of slate wagons that will load and unload automatically at suitable slate wharfs.

There's beautiful :)

Don't forget the animated door handles included

Another one who put's them on SG track :)

No Deltic pulling them though

The Trainz scenery is beautiful as well and the loco' and coaches merge blend into it and complement one another :)

Lovely Stuff Kevin, can't wait to see the real thing next week.

Any plans for coach 20? or for that matter refurbished bug boxes 1, 2 and and 5?

Although we'll have to wait a few weeks before we see the following in real life, here is the first run of the "virtual" 1880s Heritage Train.

Some nice screenshots Bruce, they really show of the models well :)

I'm looking forward to seeing No.1 at the NRM next week. Hopefully I can get some better photos than the ones I took last time I was there. They came out extremely dark when I was in the hall :(

Cheers

The CRV will be outside so you shouldn't have a problem.

The NRM has a very strange lighting arangement which remains an emigma to most of us... to the eye it looks quite light and airy, to the camera its dark and dingy. I'm hoping using a digital camera (rather than film) will improve these some what but I think the principal problem is when you try and use the flash it gets swallowed up...

Anyway off topic...

Digital Cameras and bad lighting.

Bruce

Having taken a few shots at Didcot in the shed using my aging digital camera, I found the trick is to find something to steady youself against and do not use the flash. Using digital you can just about take a picture in a darkened room!

Good luck

(Even further off topic! :) )

Thanks Bruce,

No 1 is virtually finished and I have some reference photos for 2 and 5, so they will probably be the next coaches. I'm sure no 20 will probably follow soon after.

You will need to use the new "SP2" stations that were supplied with the SP2 update. (look in the buildings menu under trainz2004 catergory).

Then when the brakevan comes to a halt in the station the doors will slide open for approx 30" and then close.

The main problem at the moment is all the stations are standard gauge (although, when you attach NG track to the standard gauge track of the station, then this will automatically convert the SG track to match the NG track you are using)

I am in the process of making a suitable NG station for use with these vehicles.
