Bodmin and Wenford railway

Post by jdjonny »

Some pics taken with a new camera (5.5 mega pixels) at the Bodmin and Wenford. I was helping to do an A-exam on the diesels, although I got a few pictures of the steam at the start of the day. All the pictures here are reduced quality, as normal, to save upload time :)

20197, a source of spares for 20166, standing outside Bodmin General, the railways terminus.

"Crompton" 33110 recieving some attention.

Image

5552 shunts a visiting auto coach around the yard to provide access to the coaling point.

Image

5552 leads an early train out of Bodmin General, the sun went in just before I took the picture :(

Image

50042 doing it's impression of a steam engine!

Image

Probably the best image of the day, as small prarie 5552 comes off shed in the glorious morning light.

Image

Pannier and class 10 shunt out of the shed to allow access for the prarie. The class 10 is one of only 2 left, and was used in it's working life at fowey docks. The bodywork is similar to a class 08, but the engine is built by Lister rather than EE.

Image

50042 coughs and splutters into life, as part of the A exam.

Overview of the yard, visible are 08444 shunting an engineers train, and prarie 5552.

More pictures are avaliable on http://www.railpics.tk

Hope you like them :)

Nice Pics, but i see you had to compress the images for the website, becuase that doesnt really looks liek 5.5Megapixels to me. But like i said im guessing they had to be compresses for bandwidth use, correct?

Yeh, as I said at the top of the thread it takes me ages to upload a lot of 1.5mb images on a dial-up connection :) So I compress the images to save my upload time and your download time ;)

Trust 920 Powercam - I saw it and it was very cheap, so I bought it. I'd never seen a 5.5mp camera for below £100 before!

The image quality is stunning if you don't compress it :) Don't know how I got by on 4mp hardware res! :D

Below £100? :o

The person you bought it form must be stupid!lol, never seen them that cheap.

Mine is a Cannon Powershot S50 (5.0Megapixels) and cost me the best part of £450. I bought on on Holiday in Jamacia for £450, which is the one i use and then another one in silver over here for a littel less this time. I did not buy both though, i bought one whilst the oter was fro my mum, mines better at pictures though, for some reason, better focus. :)
