Ok my name is Christian Hartley-Woolley, im a 19 year old from Great Malvern in Worcestershire. Im studying my A levels at the moment, in English Literature, Systems and Control (Product Design) and Business Studies. Im hoping to go on to university in October to read English Literature.

My interests include railways:

Mainly narrow gauge, ive been a Talyllyn Cleaner since 2000, but am also interested in trams, and some SG stuff...
Im also quite involved with road steam, helping to keep on the road a 1912 Aveling and Porter Road Roller No.7771 'Pegasus'

Image

At the Great Dorset Steam Fair 2002

and hopefully due back out at the end of this year an 1898 8nhp Mc Laren Agricultural/General Purpose Traction Engine... which hasnt steamed since the 1960's.

A similar engine, currently running in New Zeland

Religion:

Im a commited Christian, and was baptised last february.... and I also help to run a couple of local Christian Youth Groups aswell as teach sunday school at our local baptist church.

Anything outdoors:

I undertook my Gold Duke of Edinburgh's expedition a couple of years ago, cycling for 160 miles through the peak district and yorkshire dales.... I never want to see Kirby Stephen again in my life... :roll:
I also enjoy sailing, walking, and cycling....

Addon: OOh yes I failed to mention the love of my life, a gorgeous South African by the name of Tara.... who ive had the pleasure of going out with now since late last year, although ive not taken her to a traction engine rally yet. :wink:

Thats pretty much it, cant think of a lot else to say....

Well, my real name is Jur Snijder, I'm obviously not British but Dutch and I got washed up on these shores some 13 years ago.

I could be (and for all I know, might be) father to all of you. I will be celebrating the big Five-O next Monday...

I am kept healthily busy by my employer, a former National Gas Company since gone Private (this should allow you to figure it out), so I don't have nearly as much time to play with MSTS as I would like.

Right now I am typing on my laptop in a Bangkok hotel room on my way to Elsewhere - all paid for by my Boss.

I have started about twenty model railways in my life but the MSTS Rye & Camber Route is the first one I've actually managed to finish.

I like:

1. the four Ladies in my household who can get me to agree to anything as long as they play their cards right;

2. small, . little trains;

3. the Dutch National Squad except when it comes to penalties;

4. people who speak up for what they think is right;

I don't like:

1. weasels

2. David Seaman (see point 3. above)

3. Sad old gits

With that, I better stop.

Hell, I haven't posted anything for aaaaages so here goes:

My name is John Howard Savage, but I am nicknamed Statto or Selsig depending on which of my circles you move in.

I am 25 2/3 years old, and in the real world I am an IRSE licensed installer and SMTH qualified team leader. (If you really care, I'll expand) for a small but rapidly expanding sub-contracting firm.

In other lives I have been, and still am, a regular Ffestiniog Railway volunteer since the railway reached Tanygrisiau (24 June 1978), and have worked in the Parks & Gardens depatment, the Permanent Way department, the S&T department and Boston Lodge. I currently reside in the membaarship lists as a lifie.

I am also the drummer in a band called "I'll be the Pope" (please, please don't ask) which I formed in 1997 and have been with ever since.

Interests:

Drumming
Model Railways (of O gauge and larger)
Miniature Railways
Narrow Gauge Railways
Steam
Hitting things waaaay too hard
Real Beer
Marillion

Dislikes
Main Line Railways (they get in the way of my job)
Bass Solos
Pop pap
Excercise (as anyone who has met me will testify)
Lager

Religion:
I consider myself a lapsed agnostic, I do not know if there is(are) a God(s), and am quite happy in my ignorance, but I bear no ill feeling to anyone of any religion, nor do I wish to deprive them of it, and wish them all the best in their collective faiths.

Supermarket preferences:
I fail to see any relevance in this, and so decline from stating my non existant preferential choice of out-of-town convenience store.

I also have a knack for extrasyllabising, and overutilising, the vocabulary of my mother tongue in an overcomplicated description of an item that could adequately be conveyed in a far more succinct fashion, in an attempt, not to provide a higher opinion of my self worth form my peers, but more to cause a certain degree of intercranial liquidation and extraction of dissolved soluble urea crystals.

Well, I'm obviously in trouble then. :(

I don't like giving out personal information on the internet, for obvious reasons. However:

My name is Mike

I'm in my mid-thirties, and work for a big government department, planning future information infrastructures.

I like most railway related things, but lose interest when you start talking about anything much after 1980.

I dislike bullies, people who choose not to understand my point of view (different to those who disagree with me, which is fine), the GWR (on principle), people who put apostrophes in the wrong place.
