Had b/band for years... I have no idea how on earth I coped with dialup... but when I started, 14.4 dialup- was state of the art... :-?

14.4 - wow that was so fast back then.
I started at 300 bps and then graduated to 1200/75
I remember thinking how fast a 56k modem would be :)

Ive had broadband for about 2 years now and had i known how good it was, I would probably have got it two years earlier. I couldn't ever change back now.

Mine was upgraded to 3MB about 6 months ago, but being cable it's a shared service so it's not always as lightning fast as it might seem.

Broadband has become too slow for me :(. I have 512kb/s from Bt broadband and had it for about a year, but i want to get either 1mb or 2mb connection, but only Telewest do it in my area :(

Hopefully thought I should be moving house soon and that is in a Telewest enabled area :D

Having only recently got broadband installed, I thinkmy earlier comment might have been premature. Although some pages load at upto 50kbs, the general performance, especially on this site, is little better than my old dial-up, sometimes worse.

What type of speeds do others get on 512k connection? Before I get on the phone and yell at some unfortunate and underpaid soul, should I expect (or accept) my download speeds to be so unpredictable?
