Does your friends and work colleages know you're a.........

Train Sim fanatic?

No I don't tell any of 'em in case they think I'm a geek. Apparantly it's OK to be interested in cars and motorbikes which can reach speeds of over 100mph but it's considered "geeky" to be interested in trains which can reach speeds of over 100mph!

That's because of a "narrow minded" society these day's.

I don't openly proclaim my love of trains, or indeed Train Simulator.

However..... I'm sure they must know, because whenever the conversation involves transport, or public transport, I always manage to introduce trains into the equation :P

ive told people at work and it is the source of much amusement - but who cares. I can take a joke and a bit of ribbing. I give as good as I get. :)
One or two people have actually been interested.

My school mates know... they took the p*ss at first, but then I came up with a plan... show 'em ukts, and explain that "people pay to download your stuff" (I know it aint strictly true), but that shuts them right up :D Worked a treat :)

All my friends know about my interests, and most are OK about it - though I'm not sure that they all understand why I'm interested! Just wait 'til next year - I think we've got an entire A-Level Physics topic dedicated to railway signalling :D ! Maybe time for a large network game of SimSig...

They know im working on Train related stuff yes. Plus as someone esle said, if transport comes into the equation its hard not to notice my upto date rail industry knowledge :)

Noone hits on it specifically. They pay more attention to the fact i play computer games but then who doesnt...even if its a console.

None of my friend know about my train fanatic status, and only the closest know of my plane fanatic status.

I didnt tell any of my friends, as i thought they ay not like it but, the other week at college we started HTML, and my website is my project so i explained to them all, they are still narrow minded though, "why do like trains", and when i ask "why do you like cars", they are like, "yeah but", and i say "yeah but nothing", its the same thign really.

dont get me wrong i like cars, i liek the body work, engines, styles, wheels, same with trains really.
They have to find fun in everything though, well when i say fun, i mean something stupid, like if a train crashes, thats cool, the whoel point on the game for me, is not to crash the train, but if i do, ill laugh, but at the same time be a little pissed of that i crashed :) .

Ive given up explaining to them now.....

An advantage of being old is that you're expected to be odd. It's called being a character.

You have to conform when you're young, boring :-?

You can be yourself when you get older, much more fun but tiring :D
