Post by padbear »

:-? Hi beverody,

I am having problems in installing downloaded routes into MSTS. Could anyone help with an "Idiots" guide to installing these downloaded routes.

Thanx

Are they in folders or in a install thing - Which you click on to install?

Hi Dave,

It might help if you named the routes. Although there are some "basics" common to many downloaded routes, some have been really "unfriendly" to install. Nothing dramatic or unobtainable.... more just awkward.

I'm not being rude here but, read the "read me" file carefully AND then read it again a couple of times to make sure you're doing exactly what it says.

If you're still stuck and you post the names of routes that you're trying to install I'm sure that help will flood in on these forums.

Thanx guys, the route is London to Southampton. I read the readme files but of no help. They are zip files and i did try to unzip them to the "route" folder and ran the install.bat file.

It still does not appear as a route when I run MSTS.

I'm fairly sure I included paths :-? Has the folder set up correctly - i.e. It shows as jpp2southampton in the folder containing the other routes, and then within that you have some files (including the readme/installme.bat file, and also some folders such as Activities/Paths?textures etc.?
