I was upgrading the system to the new download mechanism, everybody is now on that, so give it a try now.

Matt - Ive tried several times to download some files - from about 17:00 until 17:45. Nothing at all. I get the download box saying the download should start - nothing else. I click on the click here if it doesnt start but that just hangs my browser up.

Im running XP Pro and IE6.

Do you have a firewall on your system? If so, can you (very) temporarily disable it and give it a try and see if that helps?

There's a setting in Internet Explorer called "use passive for ftp" under advanced settings - try ticking that box and see if that helps.

Note the last couple of entries i've just put on the front page, specifically about pop-up blockers and javascript!

Can you read through those and see if they help?

Hi Matt - im using zone alarm firewall, but i disabled it for the tests so I dont think its that. However I am also running Norton Antivirus and I believe that does block Javascript. Im going to try a few tests with both off. I'll report back shortly.

Still no joy Matt. Disabling both Norton and Zone Alarm just causes a complete browser lockup when i click to download. Is there a setting in IE6 which specifically allows or blocks Javascript?

I am also running popup stopper but turning that off also makes no difference.

Under tools / security settings you can set various options including things like Java script.

Remind me your situation:

Any firewall? If so what?
Any download manager? If so what?
Browser?
Any anti-virus? If so what?
Any ad-blockers or pop-up blockers? If so what?

No problems here.

I'm using ZoneAlarm and Mcafee with no change of settings.
