SVR Timetabling problems

The MSTS Activity Editor allows you to make your own activities, or missions, for the player to complete. This is also how you can get lots of other trains running while you drive yours!

SVR Timetabling problems

Post by spitfiresrbest »

I am trying to write a Big Engines Gala activity for the Severn Valley Railway but am in difficulties. I dont know how to manipulate the time table to suit the 25mph speed limit, every attempt so far has given around 5 minutes for the Kidderminster-Bewdley section which would require much higher speeds.
Can anyone tell me how to get Activity Editor to acknowledge the speed limit and create more realistic timetables?

Well, in a nutshell, if you lower the "expected performance" and/or edit the con file with maxvelocity setting, you can get MSTS to give you more time.

Otherwise, you will have to do the timetable by hand - its easy if you are making things later - just double-click on the arrival time and enter the desired departure time (arrival and departure are set to this), then dobule-click arrival again and enter the arrival time

Otherwise open the ACT file and edit the tabletable by hand (with the aid of a calculator) - time = (hours X 3600) + (mins X 60) + secs

All of these methods have been described in detail in this forum, I suggest you try a "search" or two.

The utility Activity Changer will allow you to edit timetables, and also has the useful facility of being able to round arrival and departure times to the nearest minute.

It's a free download, not sure if it's here, but it is at http://www.train-sim.com

It will also allow you to globally (within an activity) change start time, season and weather. A great gadget, should be part of everyone's MSTS tool kit.

LOL... Sorry Alan. It needs a Java environment I think to function. I installed it and it runs just fine on my machine. I didn't have to do anything or download anything else. Perhaps you have some setting or other that knackers the Java, or VB or whatever it is that it uses.

Yes, well I had to download a java thingy for something else, cant remember what now, but I guess thats the problem.

If he had used VB we would be fine.....

Anyway, I find the windows calculator adequate for my needs! ;)
