80135 excursion

Post by highterrace »

Apparently the NYMR's trip from Grosmont to Middlesborough is now going ahead with 80135. Prices and times as follows:

Depart Grosmont 09:35 arrive Middlesborough 10:50
Depart Middlesborough 11:45 arrive Grosmont 13:13
Depart Grosmont 14:55 arrive Middlesborough 16:10
Depart Middlesborough 16:45 arrive Grosmont 18:20

Adult £12.70 return
Child £5 return

Calling at all stations en-route

I don't know about you guys, but I don't think thats a bad return price?

Would this be on the 6th of December cos according to an update on this site http://www.uksteam.info/tours/trs03.htm I've just found its now booked to be hauled by Taw valley :D

I only found this out cos I'm looking for info on a WCRC 2004 railtour over the Boulby line by NELPG's K1, Can't decide if to have a ride or chase it for some pics. To my (limited) knowledge its the first steam working through my hometown since 1958. With this been a first time event will any crew training runs be required? I hope so then I can get my pics and a ride :)

Hi Lemberg, have you worked at Grosmont for long? Just wondered cos I worked there myself a few years ago.

Thanks for the info, Is it still just the one trip then?

BTW the S15 is looking nice :)

34027 working the train was definetly a mistake on the website, I'd imagine some fast running would be needed cos its booked for a Blackpool - Doncaster trip on the same day

I don't think our paths will have crossed then cos you will have started after I left,I might come up and get my hands dirty again next year (should save me a fortune in the buffet :) ) when I have some spare weekends. I'll be about next weekend to get some pics to post in the photography forum. I imagine this weekend will be very quiet or are there any test runs out? - Cheers :)

Taw Valley is working a Lincoln Christmas Special from Blackpool North on the 6th December to visit the Lincoln Christmas Market., so I doubt if it is working to Middlesborough

Think it will be facing smokebox first out of Grosmont as that is the way she normally faces.

I took this a couple of weeks ago....

.... not sure how long it will be facing this way, could be to even out tyre wear so it might be like this for a while.
