New Routes

Hi all,

Apologies if this is the wrong place but I am totally new to this so bear with me please.

I am tryint to get another route added in to MSTS (London Waterloo to Southampton). I have laoded this but cant get it to work, any help would be appreciated as I am not sure how to load and set up as I am only just starting to play wth the editor.

Any help or aomments appreciated.

Glad to see it is still being downloaded! Do you have any more information about the problem? Does MSTS crash when you try to run the route (if so, is there an error message?), or does it not appear at all in the list of routes you select to drive, or some other problem?

It appears in the list of routes when I am creating an activity, just when I select it it comes up with cannot load database, if that means anything

Then MSTS just crashes out......

It might be something that I am not doing right so I need to try and eliminate this first, so any help appreciated.

Do you have UK Finescale installed?

Now Im gonna look the stupid one here cos I did install a prog called UKFSV3_trackonly_installer and also a patch file to bring it version patch301 ? Is that it, if so how does it get used ? or does it automatically work ?

Sorry I know its all questions but im a total novice at this "add on" stuff.

Don't worry about it. We were all novices at one point...

What errors are you getting? I can help hopefully if there's an error message, but it sounds like there's something missing for sure, but not UKFS...

When I go into activity editor I select file new, then choose route London - Southampton. then name the activity and then it comes up - FAILED TO LOAD TRACK DATABASE - then it locks up and crashes out.

Hmmm...

Try backing up the trk file (In the route folder), then going into RE (Route Editor) and when it asks what route you want to edit, select your route BUT don't press ok. Instead press advanced and then click the white circle next to "Rebuild Track Database". Then click ok and when the route loads, exit RE. Then go into AE (Activity Editor) and it should work fine.

Got the same for Plat20 as well ? Am i missing simething ????

sounds like you need to install grahm pitts, magnetic platform kits to your system. by the sounds of the error its set number 1 you require, cant remember the file ID but if you do a file search with graham pitt in the author section you should find them easily!

You should be able to find it under Scenery (I think), under Platforms. Haven't looked recently, so not quite sure...

Hi all, loaded all you said and still no joy, even had to do a full install againas it locked right up. I now have UK finetrack and Platform kit installed and MSTS just crashes out now with a major error.

What other routes can I try to see if they work ?

Have you tried installing the latest version of the TSection.dat file? It can be found in the UKTS file li8brary here: http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info. ... ileid=6698

Hi Guys me again - sorry to be a pain and keep asking things - I am getting closer though - I can build an activity but when I try and run it I get "Train world initialisation Failed" - sounds serious ???

Any ideas

Ah. That means you need to run the installme.bat file.
