CD Ordering

Post by TomB »

Hi,

Having problems with CD ordering. Logged in, clicked on CD ordering and was asked to log in again. Entered my username ("TomB") and it tells me my username must be over 5 characters and with letters and numbers only. However, my username works on the main site, and the forums, so why not there?

I have no problems with getting to the CD Ordering page. I got asked to log in with my usual login details, and I was there! I'll be making my first orer soon!
Project H2P status: Currently awaiting software to fix PC problems. Got a start on .mkr file, hoping to continue that soon. Wprk should re-commence very soon.

That would appear to be a flaw in the processing of username validation. Unfortunately I have just discovered that Visual Studio doesn't save any of the backend code on a server when you upload it, only the front end, and the machine that everything is developed on has crashed. I didn't expect that to be a problem because all the site is stored in two other seperate pages. Except only the front end is stored there, the backend is gone...

It'll take some time to resolve I'm afraid - I suggest sending a cheque will be quicker....

Sorry,
Steve

Would it not be possible to put most of the CD stuff in the downloads as well.
This would allow broadband users to access it and take the pressure off the ordering system.
A small charge for a password to download it could be made to reward the writers. (They deserve it.)

Steve I have had similar problems to those above, BUT as soon as I enabled Cookies on Abstract Pro all goes well.

John Carr suggested enabling cookies, and it worked for me too.

cd ordering

When I filled in the form the 2 boxes to pay by cheque or credit card are grayed out so I can't get my order validated! I hope normal service will be resumed as soon as possible

I don't know of any way the system would grey out the 'boxes' which I assume are actually the buttons you need to push. Make sure your full name and address are supplied, and the country is selected correctly.

Please see the front page of UKTS for the answer to this.

Early next week is when we said we /hoped/ they would be going out. However, it very much depends on our supplies arriving first thing Monday morning.

The front page will be updated as we have some news to give out. There's not much point me saying the same thing over and over again is there? :)

We hope to begin getting orders shifted early to middle next week. At the moment, that position isn't changing, if it does, I'll update the front page.

Regards,
Steve.
