UK Mideast Electrification Project

Post by coxy64 »

Hi all

I have begun to Electrify Tim Courts Mideast Route.
All Overhead Masts are now in position from Retford to Peterborough.

The O.H.L Foundation Train is now in operation South of Peterborough
digging and filling the Foundations with Concrete from Special Rail mounted Mixers, on the push towards London Kings Cross.

It is my intentions to bury the Overhead Wire when complete as to counter act Microsofts flaw in having Overhead Wires everwhere even on unelectrified Lines.

Gary........................

Nice one! saves me doing it LOL.

I was thinking of a nice way to do a few things on Mideast since many people use the route, I was planning to look at closing the Houghton branch from St neots although first I will take it down to single track leaving the old trackbed in place (In keeping with modern times I think)

Also to optimise the track at Peterborough so its straight through.

Still just thoughts at the moment although with MSTS2 eventually getting released I was wondering if it was worth holding off till the new one comes out.

Come on Tim! LOL
Everyones rooting for you to make one of the best routes even better! lol.

Electric is good, more scope for modern-day activities (maybe up to Leeds?) then we can have good HST and 225 runs, let alone Euro Star's up to Leeds!
Thats My ideas.

Ah yes but there may be a Very good reason for doing it this way, it all depends on what occurs over the next few months I think :)

Something cryptic Tim? Still a fantastic route, especially now with quality period Class 254s, thanks to Dave Babb.

hehe a common confusion, and yet a marketing genious.

Eurostar is a company, not a train. They own class 373 trains. As they were till recently the only operator in the world to use these, people called them Eurostars.

So GNER do not techincally operate Eurostars. They operate 373's, which they nickname 'White Roses'.

They are Eurostars

Just like all vacuum cleaners are hoovers and all PAs are Tannoys

English is my language; Ill use it as I want. I didn't agree to use the rules.
