What was wrong with just limiting this spam to just the Trainz and Screenshots forum, does it HAVE to go in to as many forums as it has?

To be honest, I can't see much difference from UTC. The graphics look the same, its got the same shoddy deltic and mark 2's, just hope it does better with the UK this time round ;)

to be honest that does look very nice.

I think the problem, and difference Trainz has with Train Simulator is that Trainz looks 'soft'. Its rendering technique uses alot of blending, and therefore makes it look more 'cuddly' and playful. Where as TrainSim is hard rendered and sharp. Possibly even to sharp, but it gives the sim alot harder look and gives a robust and strong impression. Despite the games programming not quite meeting the same levels hehe.

This can be seen also in the games Halflife and Battlfield 1942. HL has been one of the Top shotting games since 1996, exceeding well above BF1942. Despite being completely inferior in practically all areas of the game. The one reason that has been noted as to why Halflife still excells in sales over BF 1942 is because its hard rendered. Where as BF1942 is soft rendered, and the elements of the game blended.

Does that make sense to people?

Trainz2004 does look vastly better than MSTS, but it just looks to soft and cuddly to me.

Hello,

I don't think you can compare HL to BF, as HL is about 5 years older! All new games look like BF! (Plus, the game principle in BF is simply ingenious while the original HL (not talking about CS although I don't like CS much) is merely a deathmatch shooter in online mode!)

The only thing that really bothered me with Trainz, apart from the bad physics, are those strange tracks with the edge in the center... They didn't correct this although nothing would have been easier...
Greetings,
Roni

If found the physics a little odd, theres that shunting scenerio (thats crashes after the first step), you try notch one the shunter doesn't move, ditto notch 2, put it on notch 3 the thing leaps forward, so hmm ok now it's started obviously I notch down and it keeps its momentum err no it just coasts to a halt.

To those of you who induldge in railway modeling, it's not far off how some older GraFar locos perform (nothing nothing nothing, 800mph off the board)
