Chiltern Route

Post by slimsteve1 »

I live right by the chiltern line and have considered modelling (even if only a short stretch to west ruislip or somthing) the route but this would be far to big a task for me alone what with needing custom objects and such - if anyone is interested then let me kno :D

Might have to wait untill MSTS 2 is out though!

What an excellent suggestion for a route! I was just thinking about this route today.

Might be a long wait if you're waiting till MSTS 2 is released though, any time between December and April next year, or possibly even later than that. Bit of a long wait!

Chiltern Take Two by Video 125 would be very helpful for you, if you haven't allready got it.

Yo sounds like a good idea!

Don't wait til MSTS2 though - MS's website says about this fall, but that's bound to be the American date. so we'll get it in around May, June next year!!!

So, have you decided to build this route?

Hey -

You could use TGA tool to get the bitmap of the JP1bush and paste you're own textures on to it! Thats what I do with all the buildings and shrubbery, just edit the textures on the existing ones. It's really surprising how it can change the look of the route, plus, it takes less time than making it up in 3D.

Few questions. As this thread is more than 6 months old...any reason for bringing it back up? and does this mean the 8 mile GCR(N) route is no more?

There are plenty of good third party trees to download - Ian Jenkin's models on here and over on Train-sim.com some excellent stuff (especially the conifers) from Phillip Voxland.

Could be quite interesting if the branch at Princess Risborough was also included? as it will hopefully be connected back to the national network again in the future.
