Ffestiniog Alpha V1.1
Since nobody else has announced it yet - the patch for FR alpha is now available at http://www.festrail.co.uk
This patch fixes some signalling problems, changes all points to manual, makes a few minor tweaks to some of the trackwork, and includes a few activities as well!
Have fun,
John

Thanks John,
I got an email from Ian on the FR yesterday that this was on the website now but didn't turn the PC on as I was reading the new Harry Potter (finished it now!).
The patch:

It concentrates on signalling revisions - these took for ever and still not as good as the real thing due to some annoying features of MSTS. I've also replaced all of the pointwork with manual points so that you can now do a bit of shunting in an activity. A few tweaks have been made to the scenery as well.
Lastly, there are four basic activities - again took a very long time and still not peffect; MSTS AI dispatcher really doesn't seem to have been written with single line track and passing trains in mind. Unfortunately, the changes tp trackwork and signalling mean that any activities that you already have will have to be edited and re-saved in order to work (sorry!).
And can I just mention that you really need to follow the instructions in the readme very carefully - and make a backup of your existing route as well; it's a long download if you have to start from scratch.
Thanks to all the testers that have taken time to send comments on Alpha 1.0 - much appreciated.
Best wishes,
Batroost (:evilbat:)

I'm just about to download it now, but as I don't have broadband any more it could take a while
Just graduated from Uni, so I've moved back home until I get a job. I'm going to miss the stupidly fast university network connection.
Tried to use GetRight, but it came back with a '403 forbidden' error, but downloading with IE works. Any ideas? I really need to use GetRight at the moment as the connection does not seem very stable.
Cheers
Richard

The GetRight error was my fault
Left it set up to use the University proxy server which would increase download speeds by about 200%.
This doesn't work when your not in University, do'h.
It's working now
Cheers

The consists seem to use a slightly different set of folder names to the ones that come with the loco and wagon zips. To rectify that I just copied the relevant folders and now have two names for some so my existing consists and the consists for the activities function correctly.
On a signalling point I was driving Blanche to Tan-y-blwch (sp?), admittedly I was giving her a bit of a roasting on the way up the hill, and when I was running up to the water tower I lined the saddle tank up nicely and was about to stop when I was told I had run a red signal and the activity ended. Do I have permission to move the signal marker on the track slightly further up the loop please?

If someone can let me know which folder names I had differently I'll correct my copies for next time - I may have been using early downloads rather than the ones on the website.
And I've no problem with anyone moving or playing with their own copy of the route i.e. landscape, track, signalling - but bear in mind that many of the 3D objects aren't mine. I'll move my signal marker up a bit (or the water tower down a bit) as well so that this doesn't happen again.
Thanks for the comments,
