Where do I start?????
Can anyone advise me, I'm hove no idea where to start!!! I would like to create my own trains for MSTS, most things seem to be catered for so I am after creating an accurate model Class 507/508 in use with Merseyrail (rather than a repainted Japanese series 2000). Can anyone advise the easiest/best programs for creating trains for a complete beginner to this????
Many thanks in advance for any advice recieved!!!!

Two modelling progs to consider IMO, 3d Canvas Pro ($$) and GMax with MSTS plug-in (free). TSM ($$) is another, although users find it has limitation in some respects and say it is not well supported by the developer.
You also require a good Paint prog, such as Paint Shop Pro 7.
And that my friend, is just the start.........

I agree with Captain Bazza, get a copy of 3D Canvas (http://www.amabilis.com) then go to the 3D Canvas page on this site and follow Decapod's tutorial on building a steam locomotive.
Once you have completed that exercise, you should not have too much trouble building the Class 507/508. Getting it perfect is another matter and depends on your artistic ability with the paint program.
