Re: AP class 40 removal
It really doesn't matter that members here can't find anything at fault with the Class 40 - the fact remains that for their own reasons, AP are removing it. As owners of the software, that's their choice. Get over it, or just download it now, while you have the chance, but it's entirely their decision that's not debatable by us. Complaining to AP or here won't alter anything.

This is a forum, by its very nature and intended use its for discussions, whether that being a subject that annoys or disagrees with you is neither here nor there, no one is forcing you to read this thread.ashgray wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 4:55 pm It really doesn't matter that members here can't find anything at fault with the Class 40 - the fact remains that for their own reasons, AP are removing it. Actually, I neither agree nor disagree, and the topic certainly doesn't annoy me (?) - I'm simply saying that it's entirely up to AP how long their own products are available for. People getting all agitated here won't affect their decision. As a member here since 2004, I'll read whatever threads I like. If you're going to make it personal by telling me to "get over myself", in a forum that you accept is for exchanges of reasonable views, then you plainly need to read the forum Code of Conduct.

Re: AP class 40 removal
The only thing about the Class 40 was the Engine sound was not loud enough when in the cab - even dropping the windows did not make a difference.
I worked on Class 40s, as a Guard and I know they were noisier than the model - otherwise the loco is superb
it would have been nice to be able to adjust the Disks in the scenario - but not a problem

Didn't AP do the sounds for it? Tut, tut for not getting that right, though it wouldn't be the first where they're sounds levels are too low.
Not being able to save progress unless stationary is a uniquely bad point for this product. If I was AP, I wouldn't be happy with that.

I'd agree that when to remove an item from sale is the publisher's right, but the reasons given in this case don't seem to add up or reflect the user experiences related in not only this forum.
Re: AP class 40 removal
It's a major pack and there will be a big hole for new users, no doubt in my mind it'll be back probably bigger and better hopefully with green TOPS options but for now it's a case of wait and see... AP are a stickler for quality and it's their choice to remove it, to cut to the chase, I see both sides of the story here!!
Re: AP class 40 removal
Isn't the old DT Class 40 still available via JustTrains?

Re: AP class 40 removal
It’s AP we are talking about here you can guarantee it will be back stretched across as many “volume packs” as possible that’s for sure.40058 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 7:23 am It's a major pack and there will be a big hole for new users, no doubt in my mind it'll be back probably bigger and better hopefully with green TOPS options but for now it's a case of wait and see... Re: AP class 40 removal
That was also the case on the old MSTS North Wales Coast pack but I changed the cab.sms references to the external sounds, not sure if that's possible for TS?

Re: AP class 40 removal
I think it makes a bit of a difference if you open the cab doors as well, though clearly not prototypical or for trying in real life!

Re: AP class 40 removal
I tried opening the Windows and it was slightly louder but going to the leaning out view the locos are a lot louder.

Hi - anybody know how you actually get the sound patch? I have looked for updates on the AP site but can't see anything....or is it a case of re-downloading and installing?ReefGB wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 10:22 pmSound looping issues from what I understand.
Apparently fixed in march.
