A question was asked on the DTG Forums
Somebody tried to make a Freight service on the Kiel - Lubeck route and the system won't allow it.
Tried it myself with a loco and 6 wagons from a thru road at Lubeck to Kiel siding 18 and as a Freight service it won't path
Change the train to a Stopping Passenger and it works
Is there something in the a *bin file which would stop that?
Thanks
Peter

No...it's the properties of the track once laid, so it could be set as "Passenger" which could make it difficult for freight services. From your starting point, set the service to stop at the next available marker...if that works move to the next and so on and eventually you'll find the errant bit.

Re: Unable to create Scenario
Thanks Gary.
Edit - Putting the first station as a passing point causes the scenario to not work
All the track between the two places is in Yellow and appears to be Mainline status - so I have no idea what could be wrong
I have put a ticket in to DTG and got a reply - not holding out any hopes

Re: Unable to create Scenario
It could very easily be the tiniest sliver of track set to passenger only (usually where tracks join or diverge) and that would be enough to throw the whole network out.

Try using a destination marker as a scenario specific item; you can them move it along the track to *map out* the status of the track.

Sorry but I'm not sure how to do that?gptech wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 2:04 pmFoggyMorning wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 1:32 pm It could very easily be the tiniest sliver of track set to passenger onlyTry using a destination marker as a scenario specific item; you can them move it along the track to *map out* the status of the track.
I'm just used to making the scenario the normal way

What should the section be set to?FoggyMorning wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 1:32 pm It could very easily be the tiniest sliver of track set to passenger only (usually where tracks join or diverge) and that would be enough to throw the whole network out.
I was looking in the tracks.bin file and the category "Passenger" comes up a lot but not Mainline

Re: Unable to create Scenario
For running lines I would use mainline wherever possible, with sidings etc. set to yard. Any type of traffic can use mainline and yard, whereas passenger and freight strictly limit traffic to trains in those categories, so unless there are absolutely no situations in which they are going to be used for different traffic types, I avoid using them. It's one of those areas where there are no hard and fast rules about what you should set them to, so different route builders will have different opinions/methods.

I will change Passenger tracks to Mainline using TS Tools - it does not matter if that does not work as there is a default version in the MainContent.ap
Peter
EDIT - that did the trick and I can now run a Freight Scenario
Thanks again Steve
