Armstrong Powerhouse weather and Scenario Markers.
I'm completely perplexed when it comes to using Armstrong Powerhouse Weather patterns
I've got it set up, boxes ticked for it etc . The problem arises here at this stage:-- Their instructions say:-
3) Hover your mouse on the far-right of the screen and a fly-out will appear. Select ‘AP’ from the drop-down menu and tick the second and third box next
to ‘WeatherEP’.
4) Now find the scenario marker for your scenario and double click it.
The thing is, on my scenarios there are often lots of scenario markers (do they perhaps relate to different 'saves' of that scenario? - I honestly have no idea!!) Some are stacked on top of each other, others around platforms and yards.
The question arise from this then are:-
1. Which scenario marker to click on?
2. Do all these different scenario markers relate to different saves of that scenario or am I wrong here?
around this issue
Goodness I am confused. Hoping someone can shed some light on the fog (Not the Armstrong Powerhouse fog!!!! ) around this issue.
Cheers in advance!

If you press F6 you'll see the name of each marker.

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse weather and Scenario Markers.
Those are markers for other scenarios, double clicking one would then load that scenario. When you enter the Scenario Editor (are you perhaps working in the Route Editor?) the marker should be right in front of you; no need to click it if you haven't clicked anywhere yet as the settings tab for that scenario should be open on the right hand side of the screen.signalnorths wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 11:47 am 2. This is how I do it – hope that I am not showing you things that you already know:
In the left side fly out (rolling stock menu) where the object set filter resides (which looks like a blue box with an orange arrow to the right of it.) there is the Scenario Marker (that AP is referring to) which looks like the front of a train (in orange - see P26 of the manual) click on that and there should be just the 4/5 scenario markers, eg, Standard, Career, etc choose one (according to the type of scenario) and double click. Then Hover the mouse on the far-right of the screen and a menu will fly out listing scenario information and you can set the weather, etc.
NOTE: This is after you have clicked the object set filter and Selected ‘AP’ from the drop-down menu, scrolled down to Weather EP, and ticked the second and third boxes. Until you do that then you can't proceed to set the Scenario Marker correctly.
I found the instructions from AP to be confusing to a non-editor-type person.

I don't think he's creating anew scenario though peter, but editing an existing one....can you clarify that please Len?

Hi Gary
This is a STANDARD weather pattern and not an EXTENSION.
I was actually responding to this:

I was talking about adding the Sky and Weather Pack to an EXISTING scenario - AFAIK it is the same procedure for any scenario new or existing.I don't think he's creating anew scenario though peter, but editing an existing one....can you clarify that please Len?

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse weather and Scenario Markers.
I was modifying an existing one. Got that working now. Tanks to all who replied.
Now then..!
Can't get the weather extensions to work. Hmnnn. I've followed the instructions to the letter but at stage 11 which says:-
" On the right-hand side of the screen you will see a button that says ''open' click this and it will take you to the scenario folder on your hard drive"
I get no button however!
Yes I am in borderless mode which I believe can affect this. Earlier at stage 9 of the instructions it says to exit scenario and then train sim and load again . Now the only way I know how to exit editor is to press the big orange button which takes you to play and then press exit. Could this be the problem? is there another what to exit editor that I am unaware of perhaps or am I constructing my own red herring here?
Anyone had this problem please?

Are you looking at the timetable screen of the scenario editor?
Sort of, butpeterfhayes wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 4:14 am AFAIK it is the same procedure for any scenario new or existing.
is to add a new Scenario Marker. The manual explains how to enable the weather pack with the P/P filtering, and double click the marker already present in the scenario (not those in the right hand flyout)--when editing an existing, weather enabled, scenario all you need to do is open the scenario in the Scenario Editor and the marker is right in front of you, with the right hand flyout available.peterfhayes wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 10:14 pm In the left side fly out (rolling stock menu) where the object set filter resides (which looks like a blue box with an orange arrow to the right of it.) there is the Scenario Marker (that AP is referring to) which looks like the front of a train (in orange - see P26 of the manual) click on that and there should be just the 4/5 scenario markers, eg, Standard, Career, etc choose one (according to the type of scenario) and double click.

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse weather and Scenario Markers.
Are you trying to add a trigger instruction for the weather extension to the player train in the scenario?

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse weather and Scenario Markers.
I realise now that I was looking in the wrong place for the 'open' button - found it now . The only thing I am now unclear about is the instruction No 13:-
You will find a file called 'ScenarioScript.lua' , copy this to the scenario folder you should still have open in another window
Well I found 'ScenarioScript.lua but I am unclear as to what or where is meant by the scenario folder

The folder where the files for the scenario reside: the script needs to be in that folder, which you've opened in an Explorer window by clicking the 'Open' button.signalnorths wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 6:31 pm Well I found 'ScenarioScript.lua but I am unclear as to what or where is meant by the scenario folder

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse weather and Scenario Markers.
Gary
It is confusing:
If you look at say this route folder: \STEAM\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Content\Routes\00000029-0000-0000-0000-000000002014\Scenarios There is no lua script in that scenarios folder, but if yo open individual scenarios for example \STEAM\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Content\Routes\00000029-0000-0000-0000-000000002014\Scenarios\08441d80-1b23-4177-93e2-8c1eac3da294 that is where you find the lua script.
So does it need to be in the INDIVIDUAL scenario folder or will it work in the generic scenario folder itself?
Sorry about this but I don't know what you mean:
This is all the manual says - so I don't know what the comments about existing weather refer to? As far as I could see there is no mention of adding to an existing weather pattern (AP EP I presume). Sorry I am lost - I was just quoting the manual!!

Sorry about this but I don't know what you mean:
I couldn't find any reference in the manual to P/P filtering what is that? When you "double click the marker already present" you see a list of the types of scenarios available in TS20XX as I explained.is to add a new Scenario Marker. The manual explains how to enable the weather pack with the P/P filtering, and double click the marker already present in the scenario (not those in the right-hand flyout)--when editing an existing, weather enabled, scenario all you need to do is open the scenario in the Scenario Editor and the marker is right in front of you, with the right-hand flyout available.

pHHover your mouse on the far-right of the screen and a fly-out will appear. Select ‘AP’ from the drop-down menu and tick the second and third box next to ‘WeatherEP’.
4) Now find the scenario marker for your scenario and double click it.
5) Hover the mouse on the far-right of the screen and a menu will fly-out listing scenario information.
6) Where there is a cloud and sun icon, click the arrow to bring up the drop-down menu and select the weather you desire.
