Quite right too, this pack is an absolute joke. Apart from the close enough horn and idle sounds its an embarrassment.
If you like your Class 60s sounding like a Kuju HST then here is the pack for you...

From the manual:
You should therefore regard the audio reproduction for our locomotives as authentic interpretations rather than perfect recreations.

Going from memory here, but the class 60 does/did sound remarkably similar to a HST. Which could result in a rather unpleasant surprise if you were waiting for a HST to Reading and found a coal train to Didcot approaching instead!

Ssshh Steve - you can't talk positively about Dovetail products. Everything has to have an AP soundpack before it is any good :P

Explains nothing at all since moderation is carried out in accordance with the code of conduct. More posts critical of AP get rejected than posts critical of Dovetail (mainly due to the way they are worded).

Just an observation that it always seems to be "open season" on DTG regardless of the accuracy of the statements. In some cases the sounds people have taken issue with were actually provided by AP but why let the truth get in the way of a chance to snipe at DTG.

At the end of the day people chose what to spend their money on - I haven't and wont spend anything on AP products since I need my installation to be "out of the box" for use at exhibitions. I can't be misleading the public by having enhanced versions that are not part of the steam downloads.
Kindest regards

Not sure about that, I seem to recall that basically if you took the silencer out (and probably a couple of other bits) it would be like the 37901 (IIRC) which was the Class 60 testbed anyway, so maybe we just need to stick the Mirrlees sound pack in and away we go

AP can easily correct the sound problems but not sure about the modelling errors

We will see what comes out when AP either re-release the sound pack to work with this loco or bring out their version of the Class 60
