Re: North East Rails V.3 beta release chat.
Hello Joe I don't know if you havnt already spotted this ( see pic below )
The tall red boxes indicate incorrect signal links direction.I dont know it the problems all relate to the same ground signal or not.To display these errors you need to be in the scenario editor or the route editor , then keep pressing the space bar until signal links are displayed. These ones in the pic are around the consett works area. The strange thing is when you try to move the signals links the direction arrows flip so they are pointing in the wrong direction ( look at signal links in the pic below ).This makes the tall red error box disappear but then the signal proberbly wont work correctly.Manually shift clicking the links makes them point in the correct direction but the red boxes re-appear.I remember having this issue on one of the signals on Tommos North Yorkshire Coast route but never had the issue of the links pointing in the wrong direction.Anyway i think these signals on your route are still working ok as long as the link arrows are manually changed to the correct direction.Looks to me like it could be a problem with the actual signal maybe.
Thanks Newbouy

Hi Joe,
when using a DMU on the Tynemouth Freeroam scenario I just spotted some more minor issues that can be easily fixed:
1.The office shed at the rail entrance to Tynemouth yard needs raising.
2. North Shields station: fenceposts on north side of line immediately west of the station are out of the ground.
3.The track linkage feathers from the junction semaphore signal CV08 at the entrance to Swan Hunter sidings need swapping over in the editor, as the wrong routes are being indicated. Also the footbridge immediately after this signal needs tweaking slightly as it interferes with the mesh fence on the north side of the tracks.

Yes did notice this, links are in correct direction and operate ,did notice there the same on Tommos route, thought it might have been to do with the signal number boards at one point but its not.newbouy wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 11:23 am Hello Joe I don't know if you havnt already spotted this ( see pic below )

Hello Joe just a couple of questions to pick your brain.Im writing a scenario for your route which ends at Tyne Yard.I was just wondering was there never any refuelling points at the yard particulary the stabling area. Also I was thinking of making another scenario for the Hilda section of the route and wondered am I correct in believing there was NCB EE Type 3B electric locos but with pantographs on their roofs operating there.Im sure I once saw a picture of these locos working there.
Thanks Newbouy

I don't think they had refuelling points in Tyne Yard because Gateshead depot was only a few miles awaynewbouy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 11:51 am Hello Joe just a couple of questions to pick your brain.Im writing a scenario for your route which ends at Tyne Yard.I was just wondering was there never any refuelling points at the yard particulary the stabling area. Also I was thinking of making another scenario for the Hilda section of the route and wondered am I correct in believing there was NCB EE Type 3B electric locos but with pantographs on their roofs operating there.Im sure I once saw a picture of these locos working there.

The Electric locos around the Newcastle Area were much different to the EE type3B which is in the Return to Maerdy route

Harton system did have about 3 of these locos and i think they were withdrawn around 1970 from what i can see. They ran with a boom type collector at first like a tram car being replaced by cross arm at a later stage.newbouy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 11:51 am Hello Joe just a couple of questions to pick your brain.Im writing a scenario for your route which ends at Tyne Yard.I was just wondering was there never any refuelling points at the yard particulary the stabling area. Also I was thinking of making another scenario for the Hilda section of the route and wondered am I correct in believing there was NCB EE Type 3B electric locos but with pantographs on their roofs operating there.Im sure I once saw a picture of these locos working there.

As for the fuel point ,cant remember one ,did get down next to the stabling point as a kid before the office Forman would chase us .Stand to be corrected and i will add one if anyone knows different before the weekend.

I have used this as a stand-in Electric in the current version of the route - far from correct but about the right size and still quite good...

The Harton locos were not related to the NER Bo-Bo Tyneside Electrics

This is a shot at Tyne Yard, taken in 1969, there looks like a small water pump shown here, so, no reason not to put a fuel pump in if it's for a scenario in the 1960s/70s/80s, etc.

Nice pic you found there steve, that looks like a small diesel pump next to it aswell ,wonder where they had the tanks for it. ill have to investigate.TransportSteve wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 10:51 pm This is a shot at Tyne Yard, taken in 1969, there looks like a small water pump shown here, so, no reason not to put a fuel pump in if it's for a scenario in the 1960s/70s/80s, etc.

Well, I've also seen this photo on flickr, Joe, from the late 1980s, it looks like a large fuel tank in this picture, but, it's a hell of a long way away from the depot buildings if it serves a pump, but, not impossible.

Re: North East Rails V.3 beta release chat.
The white tank partly shown on the right of that photo looks like a gas tank not a diesel tank, possibly to supply gas to point heaters?
