Our antipodean friends are celebrating the twelve days of Christmas (this is Day 8 ) with a succession of releases - of metric wagons and clutter - that will be useful on any mid-20th-century metric route. Find them at http://www.tsnz.co.nz/.

Stefan has his own personal Facebook page. However, the one where you can read about Stefan's project is the TSNZ Facebook page, which is the one I mentioned above.

For consistency, I think you'll need to start with a thorough-going overhaul of the Babylonian (base 60) relationships between seconds, minutes, and hours and the base 24 relationship between hours and days...

What would you suggest?

Whilst we're doing our usual off-topic quibbling, I would like to remind everyone that the 12 Days of Christmas actually start on Christmas Day and run until the first Evening of Epiphany on the 5 January. Whilst I in no way wish to besmirch the fabulous generosity exhibited by a number of people in the community with their giveaways, it has become another cultural appropriation by the marketers, probably of American origin.

Hmmm...

I think we need to remember the antipodean location of New Zealand. It seems to me entirely reasonable that their '12 days' is reversed with respect to ours, and thus finishing, not starting, on 25th December.

As one of the antipodeans on here, no it’s not.

And the only people having Christmas dinner on the beach are the expat Brits doing it for the first and only time to live up to the stereotype (and I speak from experience).
