Might be worthwhile cleaning things up a bit and seeing if that helps.
Hadn't noticed the .bak files in the scenarios 8)

All cleared as part of housekeeping - still freezes though. I know exactly where it freezes by travelling sideways along the track - a road overbridge south of Reading West which is directly above the "A4 Bath Road" marker.

Have you got rid of the duplicated Track Tiles folder?..as they're still .bin files in there the game would/could reference them, using up resources in the process.

Yeah, roughly a package that's 30% larger than it needs to be.

The Assets folder contains a fair few extraneous files too, only small in size terms but .bak, .pak, .tgt, .cost, .xml files aren't needed.

For those not in the "know", TS Tools has a function for removing ALL (bar .pak) of the above from your Assets folder. To remove the .pak files, many of us use a (very small) batch file from within the Assets folder

Code: Select all

del /s *.pak
pause
The pause at the end enables one to see if all has gone smoothly

Slightly off topic

What are *.tgt files?
The loco I'm looking at has tgt extensions to copies of all files
I have
BB7200PV_sim_blueprint.bin
BB7200PV_sim_blueprint.bin.tgt
Even the .out file has a .out.tgt version

Thanks

*.tgt (target?) files are produced during the modelling/exporting process and have no bearing on how the finished item looks or behaves.

Nick
In TS_Tools I just put *.pak* in the filter and that usually finds the blueprints.pak files.
However, the .bat file is easier.

Indeed - I use it every time I add some assets or make a reskin - becomes second nature

Deleting *.pak files, clearing the cache in other words, is no longer something that we have to do regularly in order to make new content show. The point is that the inclusion of *.pak files gives the end user a cache that's most likely not a true reflection of what they have installed.

Agreed - but forget to do it when adding a reskin, and you will not see them! So keeping to a routine saves time (only a few seconds to run the bat file, as against several minutes restarting)

I'd agree with "and you MAY not see them!" but it's very rare that I have to clear the cache to make reskins available. Perhaps because I use a more manual installation method, not automated installers---including Utilities.exe ?

Forgot the last time I used Utilities to install - like you I do it manually
