Re: BMG Halloween Sale
Sounds good Ben.
'Why is it that the railway station is so far away from the village?'
The local pauses for a while, then replies:
'They thought it would be a good idea to build it next to the railway line.....'
(Dent Station on the Settle & Carlisle)

Re: BMG Halloween Sale
I picked up the Merchant Navy and Eric Treacy, the only BMG Black5 I did not have yet. I one word, Stunning
Ben and staff did it again, the MN detailing inside and out is incredible. I have never seen a steam cab like this one. And like all BMG locos, the handling is surprisingly easy for such a complex and realistic simulation. Well done BMG, very happy
, and Happy Halloween, folks!!
Re: BMG Halloween Sale
What’s the mogul like, as I’m tempted...
(but don’t have the met route)
Is it sufficiently different to the Black 5??
I guess I’d probably use it on Stainmore (prototypical or not)... also making some steam “era” scenarios for Welsh Marches (again, ignoring / taking a squint at the modern infrastructure)

Re: BMG Halloween Sale
Regarding the areas that the Stanier Mogul was active. At the creation of BR (1948), they were allocated as follows
42945 6B Mold Junction
42946 8C Speke Junction
42947 5B Crewe South
42948 7B Bangor
42949 2B Bletchley
42950 5B Crewe South
42951 7B Bangor
42952 5B Crewe South
42953 6C Birkenhead Mollington Street
42954 7A Llandudno Junction

42982 5B Crewe South
42983 5B Crewe South
42984 7B Bangor
So mostly Midlands and North Wales.
Notwithstanding that, they were often seen in the North (I saw most of them going through Preston), so may have made the Stainmore on the odd occasion.

PS So could be used on "Steaming over Shap", and the route being worked on "Steaming through North Wales with the LMS"
