Re: Welsh Marches Line Back on Sale
I was perfectly happy with the original route. Yet although I DONT have BOTH the original and the latest routes listed in the game...I DO now seem to have two sub folders in the "Assets/BMG" folders now. One appears to have been installed without my knowledge on 6th August ?
Can anyone explain what is going on, and why this is happening ? Will I notice any difference in the game ?
Thanks
Derek

Re: Welsh Marches Line Back on Sale
People who bought the route prior to it being withdrawn received a free copy of the unbranded version. It installs as a separate route and won't affect the original.shinymac wrote:I was perfectly happy with the original route. Then you do have both versions of the route--remember routes don't show in the game's menu unless they have scenarios installed and (as far as I'm aware), like assets, routes will only show once in the menus if they have the same descriptive name defined in the RouteProperties.xml file. Easy enough to check the naming, just double click the file to get it loaded into your default browser.gptech wrote:Yes...I do have that folder
For this route you'd have to be looking for Career scenarios too; no good looking in the Standard section of the menu, as the scenarios it ships with are all of the Career type.

Thanks for the reply, but I am no wiser !
Why do I have to have TWO versions of exactly the same route ? I was perfectly happy with the original version I had. But now my route folder says it was modified a day or so ago....why ? Am I missing the point ? What is the difference between the two routes that I would notice when driving ?
Thanks

Re: Welsh Marches Line Back on Sale
The manual seems to have been overwritten - I could only find one copy in the ManualsEN folder (no branding) - anyone got a copy of the original??

Re: Welsh Marches Line Back on Sale
I think you're right, I'd renamed my original manual (so it started with the route name rather than BMG) so I have two now.
Re: Welsh Marches Line Back on Sale
Presumably you could untick the new route in your library, let it uninstall and just use the original?shinymac wrote: Why do I have to have TWO versions of exactly the same route ? Interesting that it's debranded the EWS Class 66 and the GWR HST as well as the Class 175

You have both versions of the route because:shinymac wrote:Why do I have to have TWO versions of exactly the same route ? I was perfectly happy with the original version I had. (select whichever fits best for you)
Because DTG have kindly given those who purchased the original route the new one as a gift
Because the Steam system can't easily work out who would be eligible for any future upgrades/tweaks/fixes to the route
Because DTG have wisely concluded that if they didn't make provision for the owners of the original, they'd have a nightmare supporting demands that any Workshop scenarios released for the new route should also be available for the original.
You may notice the lack of branding on station signs etc, and certainly would on the rolling stock.
As has already been suggested, you could un-tick the new route in the Steam client--if it does indeed show as a separate route there--or simply just cut the new route's Routes folder out of the game, along with it's Asset folder. Paste these into a suitably named archive folder outside of the game and you'll always have them to hand in case you need them.
Here you go Peter (and anybody else of course):peterfhayes wrote:I could only find one copy in the ManualsEN folder (no branding) - anyone got a copy of the original??

Re: Welsh Marches Line Back on Sale
As the unbranded route has the same name as the original, I now have double scenarios and no way to distinguish between them. Is there a way to rename the old one and are there any pitfalls in doing so?
