It''s a free download - no subscription required. Most downloads on ATS are free. This pack is in fact the most popular item on the site. There is a similar IC225 pack too.
Thank you for clearing that up. I was under the (obviously mistaken) impression that downloads from there were only available to (paid) subscribers.

Just to (finally) clear this up however, it is this pack that was being referenced when talking about the LNER livery being available, and not the base Armstrong MTU pack?

Yes, the LNER and Virgin East Coast liveries aren't in the AP pack.

Amazing how someone says "i think we can agree to let that one slide" when proved wrong.

honestly the things people will come out with as soon as someone highlights you dont need the AP pack lol.

As the says goes all the time as soon as someone critices an AP pack here. You can buy it if you want or you dont.

Thank you, I can stop looking for an update that doesn't exist now!

Proved wrong? Not at all Ross. gptech has admitted he misunderstood, and so there is quite simply no 'argument' left to quarrel. As per..

Yet you do need the AP EP for it to work straight from the installed file, without modification or reverse engineering. I'm not quite sure you fully understand the conversation here, perhaps just wanting to get your word in about your distaste for AP?

An absolute luxury in my eyes. One that people need to realise before quite simply whinging without criticism.

Bit of a mixed bag from what I see on facebook. Here is what one purchaser posted;

The textures are low res
The Mk3 doors look too stretched
There's a gap between the Mk3 corridors
The Coach interior shows "Coach M" but the camera in free mode has been put into Coach L
You cannot see the headlight lettering near to the cab window
The emergency Plunger doesn't work
The instrument lights don't work
And for some odd reason the horn gets stuck in "Low Tone" I'm not sure if it's happening for others.
My Master Key input doesn't work. nor does my wiper switch
The TPWS cannot be pressed despite saying on the steam description that it includes TPWS functionality
Don't get me wrong, it looks nice, but it could be vastly improved.

Based on that and some other similar posts it's a no buy from me at the moment, but I would be interested to know if any buyers on here have the same issues.

The textures are low res

Not really - look ok to me, but maybe my eyes are low res :D ...

The Mk3 doors look too stretched

Can't see it, but see what others think

There's a gap between the Mk3 corridors

There is a very slight gap - but really?

The Coach interior shows "Coach M" but the camera in free mode has been put into Coach L

Don't understand the significance of this - yes coach camera is in M, but freemode (key 8?) just takes you to a position relative to the cab...

You cannot see the headlight lettering near to the cab window

Well you can see it, but not read it clearly - however there is a good little display of the lights chosen under the driver's phone

The emergency Plunger doesn't work

Agreed

The instrument lights don't work

Press I - they do for me

And for some odd reason the horn gets stuck in "Low Tone" I'm not sure if it's happening for others.

No - not stuck in low tone - spacebar and B work perfectly - as does the actual control

My Master Key input doesn't work. nor does my wiper switch

Masterkey works - wiper switch works

The TPWS cannot be pressed despite saying on the steam description that it includes TPWS functionality

Mine can...

Don't get me wrong, it looks nice, but it could be vastly improved.

It does look nice - I would say a mid range functional model, but overall a vast improvement on the original...

And how about you ask that person if they bought a certain 3rd party’s pack for 16,99 and ask them for a review I bet. I bet they will be full of praise despite what MANY people are saying about that pack.
I wonder if said person would be so kind to go into detail like they have with this pack trying to find fault (which half of what they said is wrong away) like they have done here. I don’t think the would somehow.

I'm not a buyer (I have enough HSTs, quite frankly) but social media comments are so hard to base a judgement off because of the high amount of user error. A bit like when people download freeware routes and swear blind they have all the requirements, but complain that their tunnels are missing -- turns out they have all the requirements apart from the ones for the tunnels :P

If I were thinking of buying, I'd simply wait for a couple of people who know the sim well to put out video reviews so I could actually see the new model in action, rather than rely on reviews on platforms known for their resident Mr Angrys.

Having said that, I do enjoy the social media and Steam comments and "reviews" for the rage, during brief moments of boredom at work :D

One of the early reviews on Steam suggests that Paxman engine sounds have been used, which of course would not be correct for a LNER livery. Haven''t purchased myself so cannot verify.

Another reason i ignore steam reviews. The sounds are clearly mtu and they are not brilliant but they are mtu.

Alan Thomson`s website has both VTEC and LNER skins of HST, both of which use the MTU enhancement pack

"….both of which need the MTU enhancement pack to work *straight out of the box*, but the textures will port over to the default Kuju HST if you're prepared to, and capable of, doing a little .bin file editing"

would be more accurate. What do to depends of course on how happy you are with the default HST.

Most are but instead of a normal turbo they've used the kuju valenta sounds for some weird reason.
