AP Class 375/377 pack in progress

Never thought I’d see the day where the biggest weakness in an AP release is.....the sounds! After weeks of using SamTs version I have to admit some of the sounds in this release are painful to say the least. And don’t turn the air con off whatever you do. They actually hide some bad / non existent sounds.

Liking the TMS and much improved cab. But heck it’s a steep price

As for me, I really wish I could get excited about this EP, and I say this as a fan of a lot of what AP have done. But I think with having most of their EMU stock, plus MKS' excellent 460 pack, I'm a bit EMU'd out at the moment. Unless someone were to tart up (and grime up) one of the first gen units... I'd be up for that (childhood memories of a struggling Network SouthEast, etc).

Otherwise I'll see how I feel about it when I have a bit of cash on the hip, as early reports suggest the sounds may need a tweak. Plus I only have the basic Chatham Mainline route from DTG so I'd be losing out on the included scenarios for the Chatham & Medway too.

Ignoring any arguments about cost or how good (or not) it is, I am not going to buy something with a ridiculous regression to "Please note, this pack is NOT compatible with any external controllers such as the XBOX or RailDriver."

I do like the look of the extra's, not sure what Southern stock is available, only seem's to be the early 377/1's, 377/2's and 377/3's? Is there any 377/4's in this, as the Southern picture only shows the old lights, but the FCC /5's with the newer lights are there

This is nothing new and as far as I recall applies to a lot of AP products, but they all work with Cobraone's raildriver software available through the relevant thread on here. So I would presume this one will be the same,I don't have it as it is not really my area of interest, for this reason alone it will likely be a sale purchase for me.

I agree it is nothing new, but in many cases all it means is that cancelling the aws doesn't work. I don't mind that need to use the keyboard because one needs that anyway for german pzb/lzb (and I have programmed my raildriver buttons for those if using that). I am not, however going to make the mistake as in the past when I got both the 170EP, and not learning from my mistake the 350/450EP, with a combined throttle/brake which really doesn't work on either controller.

The Ap 375 and 377 works on on the Raildriver Interface and with the Hotas joystick.

Only slight downfall the Direction Controller/Reverser dosen't seem to work.

Other than that, it is an absolute pleasure to drive on the Joystick.

I personally have had no issue with using combined brake/throttle levers on Raildriver for many years, or the AWS come to that. However I always found the throttle lever to feel too insubstantial, so I now use a Hotas throttle together with the Raildriver which gives a much more substantial feel. For instance it's a joy to drive either of the Taurii with it, and the joystick can be used for the loco brake. With the flexibility of cobra one's software I am now considering whether to acquire a second or similar throttle to use as a brake. Of course the USB components being made available may be an option, but I will wait and see the cost, reviews, and very important, durability. There is also the issue that I don't only drive UK vehicles, so components need to be usable with non uk vehicles. The construction of the Hotas is very substantial.

I certainly would expect more than a glorified button with mild ergonomic advantages for £30. I always imagined most of ATS' audience were teens and young adults, perhaps lacking the disposable income to throw £30 at paperweights.

I don't generally delve into the politics of these third party content providers and simply buy what I think I'll enjoy, but the last time I spent £30 in one hit I got two routes I'm very happy with (which fed into the requirements for multiple freeware routes) plus some stock.
