One I noticed was the Class 165/166 Sound mod - one class that has been overlooked
But underneath it says
Please use TS utilities to install the RWP file, extracting the contents will corrupt your train simulator installation!
Not come across a warning like that before :-?

Yes, very odd seeing as TS Utilities does exactly that.

It may be that someone unzipped the zip file, and then unzipped the .rwp from inside the window. That often shows gobbledygook, and will cause havoc inside your Railworks folder if you copy/drag it across. Always best to pull the .rwp onto your desktop, and unzip from there.

Plausible theory Nick, meaning that the statement on the web page would be more a knee jerk reaction than real, correct, information. This is/could well be an example of why there are so many miscomprehensions surrounding how the game/system works.

Wow! A quite amazing sound pack If I may say so. Makes AP one look bad and I never thought I’d say that about an AP pack. Like how he managed to get the compressor in as well for some reason Richard and dtg completely ignored that.

Love the new passenger view too. Now if an “amateur” can do sounds that good, for free. Why the hell do we still get piss poor sounds from DTG??

It's much easier to make very high quality content when you don't have to worry about how to pay yourself for the time you spend making it.

Looks good, thanks for the heads up, will download the 165/166 sounds and give them a try. Thanks to SamT if he reads these forums.

I always unzip RWP files to my desktop and use utilities to install them from there. I haven't had any issues so far (as far as I know).

I am baffled why we haven't seen a major enhancement pack for the 166 or a new model. They certainly have been neglected and there are many routes for them now. Apart from the original Paddington to Oxford and of course the JT Chiltern routes now that many have migrated to South Wales and the South West that brings plenty more routes where they could be realistically ran on.

So I would say the sim is crying out for a good quality 165/166.

I did a run with this pack last night as well and totally agree that this represents an outstanding piece of work. All of a sudden, this propels the 377 from being one of the most maligned (for me - soundwise - with the old AP pack) to one of my favourite modern EMUs in TS. It''s a real pleasure both to drive this and to take a seat in the passenger view (which has dedicated sounds).

Just noted on his Youtube page (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn-8qF ... Ugnp8M6o1w) that the guy is a trainee driver at South Eastern, so obviously he has had lots of recording opportunities.

Have to agree with other posters, these sounds are good, damn good. Tom was reluctant to comment on the textures in his vid, yes the units look as if they have come straight out the lacquer shop but they are very nice irrespective, the 165/166 and 180 sound good too I think he has the bogie run sounds spot on at speed.
Best Regards

The installer tries to install to the default windows86 file so I changed it to my destination of my drive and steam file-railworks.
Is that correct or should I send it to the class 377 files?

FOLDER, not file...a seemingly inconsequential difference but one that is oh so important.
Deano55 wrote: should I send it to the class 377 files?
No, just to wherever you have the folder it's looking for.
