AI train showing as couplings only

Post by rikrobson »

I’ve been playing the new AP class 86 scenarios and in the one where you stop at tebay to let a passenger train go past, the passing train is only showing as couplings and there are no models, no loco or coaches. The other trains show up (even the same consist) and if you look at the start the whole train is showing up just south of Preston, (its an intercity 86 and virgin coaches). Therefore its not a problem with the models, but a problem with TS2020. I’ve done the usual reboot and clear cache malarkey, but its still the same. its the 64 bit version.

Can any one suggest a fix? Is anyone else getting the same problem?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that if you get too far away from an object it does this and disappears, but i cant remember where or if there was a fix.

As strange as it sounds one way to fix it is to go to external view and fly up as high as you can whenever you are stationary like this for an extended period of time. For some reason this makes the consists reappear.

This happens without rhyme nor reason, but is often considered as due to low available resources---you can have 32GB of RAM installed and be using a very high end graphics card and still run into it. Going to external camera 1 and then straight away to external camera 2 can also *kick* it into existence.

Agreed, annoying, but easily fixed. :) I usually check out any expected overtaking consist early and then fix it before it gets to my player train.

Hi,

Not a consistent problem either, I had the problem also, but driving the same scenario again later everything was OK.
