Re: SSS Stainmore route
I've seen posts from people saying they have tried quickdrives so I presume it is showing for them. I don't use QD and I am working at the moment so I can't check my installation. Duplicate or too many scenarios perhaps?

Re: SSS Stainmore route
Route looks really good from the run I had. On Ivatt Tutorial got there but on auto fireman the pressure kept dropping to 146lbs even with fire mass at over 780 and when with regulator nearly shut off. No increase no matter what settings I used. Dampers and blower on, ejector closed (not sure if that is best)

Re: SSS Stainmore route
I've found that the Ivatt loses/uses steam at an alarming rate; far more than the generation can keep up. On the climb with the loaded minerals, I ended up with the choice of getting up at a respectable speed but having no steam left, or keeping the boiler pressure somewhat high but plodding along at 6-8mph.

Re: SSS Stainmore route
Hi
Am keenly awaiting the release of this route. But as often is the case, I am put off purchasing a route because of the immediate issues people are having with it. I hope any updates or patches are already in the planning stage, as I will hold off purchasing it until then.
But for now, can anyone tell me....are all the locos that are included with the route (and those that are not), able to be driven succesfully at realistic speeds, by the standard method of driving. I am not interested in driving locomotives by any "advanced" method.
Thanks for your help guys
Derek

Re: SSS Stainmore route
I have tried twice with the Ivatt 4MT and normal driving in auto-fireman seems impossible as boiler just bleeds pressure at any settings and settles on the minimum of 146ilbs, It just doesn't seem to generate any sort of steam to match anything required of it.

Re: SSS Stainmore route
Swapped out the Ivatt 4MT with a BR Standard 4MT and it is like night and day- so the latter is fine to drive normally
Re: SSS Stainmore route
I had no problems with the Ivatt 4MT training scenario, although I was firing manually.
On the subject of Quick Drive, no problems with it. The only issues I've had so far are very minor (some vegetation hovering in mid air).

Re: SSS Stainmore route
Hi, yes the 4MT is a bit of a handful to drive especially when attacking the climbs. When testing I found that it was best to keep your speed low on the climbs to maintain reasonable boiler pressure. I had difficulties with it when first running the scenarios, but as I had to run the scenarios several times during testing, I eventually discovered what the best settings are for how you are driving. What I did find was there are no hard and fast settings for the 4MT and like the real thing, each day is different (He-he). It is a challenging loco (in its present form) to drive, but all scenarios can be fully completed.

An update yesterday adds a patch to use the freeware foliage packs from Vulcan Productions. Highly recommended.

Re: SSS Stainmore route
Yep added the VP stuff. The route is an incredible piece of work. Doing another scenario now.
Re: SSS Stainmore route
Trying the 1030 Penrith - Darlington scenario I get "broken consists - modified" at the start. I've not (conciously!) modified anything. I've tried have a poke with RWTools (which I've not used much, so may well be missing something) without seeing anything amiss.

Re: SSS Stainmore route
Going into edit mode then immediately saving cured that problem for me.

Re: SSS Stainmore route
I had that message but had swapped out the loco. Seems to be running fine by just saving and entering scenario normally as above poster said
