So would you recommend the Major Wales Design 142 revamp then ? I have downloaded it, but not yet installed it as I cannot quite work out what the differences are ? :-?
Yes I'd recommend it. The differences are subtle, but noticeable.
So are the differences just in the textures ?

The model looks nice, however, the sounds let it down, I might consider it if a certain 3rd party dev does a sound pack.

As AP already sell their own version of the 142 I would be surprised if they make a Sound Pack for the DTG version

Where do you get this?
Try here: https://www.major.wales/home
The Class 142 revamp pack adds the following key features:

Improved control mapping
Functional 'day' headlight
Upgraded base textures
New normal map (adds missing bumps/dents/body lining)
Includes a few Ex-TOC reskins

AFAIK if you install the AP 142 and already have the DTG 143, it installs upgraded sounds for that too. It probably wouldn't be too much of a problem to update the installer to also install the new sounds to the DTG 142 as well.

If I already had the AP 142 why would I need to buy the DTG one - same liveries as the AP version
And if I bought the DTG one it seems daft to buy the AP version for the sounds

I installed this "revamp" pack. Quite honestly cannot see any real improvements. The key mapping is now different from the manual but "improved" I don't know ? Some texture have more "mud and rust". The new normal mapping has not solved the AP versions main problem i.e. the lack of definition on the front air intake.

I think I will probably revert to the AP original (which I backed up), but everyone will have their own view.

When you have another good at the AP version it does seem hard to beat !
