Bossman Games Royal Scot

Post by chrisreb »

Thought I would add this loco to a scenario replacing the freeware one.

However on entering the cab cannot get the reverser to responf even when holding or just pressing the E key for the lock. Can see it moving but reverser moves but just falll back to zero. Also Ctl R for Auto fireman and nor the headlights key for levels of Fireman seem to do anything. BMG is ticked in the scenario providers. Have tried a reinstall but no change. I know the loco worked fine when I tried it a month or 2 ago in the supplied scenarios. Re read the manual but cannot see what I am missing.

Can anyone enlighten me - thanks?

Are you using the original loco numbering? Try to rename/renumber the loco within the scenario to something compatible with Royal Scot... I don't have it myself but the numbering format should be in the manual (or copy it from another scenario that uses the loco).

Have you read the manual?it is a advanced model so it won't work with F4 hud

try using these keyboard control

press E TO UNLOCK REVERSER

PRESS W to but reverser into forward S puts it into reverse press them about 3 or 4 times

now press A to increase speed press D To slow down

Q controls AWS

Press control R turns on automatic fireman

/puts the hand brake on shift+/ turns it off

Yes read the manual and did all that. I think it is to do with the way you substitute it into a scenario. I re did it via RW Tools but unticked the 'Don't change stock number' and it now seems to work in that scenario. More testing to do. You can tell the difference as when you load the scneario you get the pop ups in the corner of the screen

It does, actually, as long as you understand the reverser operation.

Five taps of the headlamp icon and you don't need to press E to unlock the reverser.

Yes it applies to all Bossman Games locos as far as I know (the only one I don't have is the 8F). It didn't work correctly on the Black 5s at first but has been updated, so make sure you have the latest version of that one.

Each press of the headlamp icon gives you simpler driving modes, details in the manual.

Can confirm now working when put into a scenario to substitute for another engine as long as let RW Tools change the Loco number. Had a v=great run on the Derby -Manchester- Sheffield route by JeffGrif
