Anyway, thanks for the heads up, if the class 37 is on offer i will deffo be getting that, maybe something else too, I'm off to look now.
Thanks for letting us know.
Class 37 does indeed look a nice unit unfortunately I don’t really use them enough in sim already to make me want another one sitting in the virtual train shed. Did you pick it up in the end ?

Please explain what you mean by that.
I daresay the fact that several older sound packs have been replaced with newer, much improved enhancement packs.

AP are doing something right to still be in business.

Not only that but I purchased a pack for the WCML over shap (passenger pack) AP35. When the whole virgin trains thing kicked off with ASAP etc the pack got pulled from the website. The pack got removed and so did all the extra stock pack. I can download the main pack from my account fine but the extra stock pack nope so the pack is redundant. So £4,99 of my money gone as I have a new hard drive installed since so can’t even recover it.

So I do apologise john if I am not jumping through hoops singing “shut up and take my money” every time AP release a new product or announce a sale, but when a developer just removes packs at 0 notice and then updates older packs with newer content that I don’t want to purchase at 0 notice making them now non useable to me should I ever need to reinstall them is not exactly fair. I don’t see why AP can’t leave a “legacy” version of the packs the update available for people whom don’t want but all these new packs that seem to be increasing in price rather quickly the last few releases so everyone can still enjoy them. Then again that would stop people buying the newer content so I see that from a business point of view.

And you felt you had the right to comment so negatively on my post because????

I don't think 177 posts over almost 7 years gives you any special rights to police the forums. If you want to do that you should apply to be a moderator.

I see you've taken yet another swing at AP.

If you hate AP so much, why do you buy their products?

If you don't buy their products then you really have no right to criticize them so much and so often.

Give it a rest. You're getting to be annoying!

perhaps you should apply to be a moderator yourself then!.

also like i stated to you BEFORE my posts are on moderator approval through my request if my posts get accepted that is because they are deemed approriate to be posted. How about you stop trying to start an argument and taking the post off topic you have started on everyone and anyone here grow up!.

I don't understand why the AP practice is an issue.

If I have an old product with an old scenario that uses it and I don't buy the updated product, presumably nothing changes and the old scenario still runs with the old product.

If I buy the updated product and that then updates the scenario to use the updated product, that's okay too since I have just bought the updated product.

Am I missing something?

If you have an old product and AP withdraws it you can no longer download the extra stock and branding files that went with it, so you need to make sure your backup and archival practices are ok.

If you have a current product and AP updates the scenarios that go with it to use new stock you don't have, you won't be able to make use of any improvements/bug fixes released on the current product without sacrificing the accompanying scenarios, unless you edit the scenarios.

Neither are big concerns, but can be a bit irritating, depending on your TS operating style/skills.

One thing I would recommend is when you buy something, download it straight away.

I bought a Wherry Line scenario pack in a sale but didn't download it for about 6 months. in that time the class 158 packs were released which I didn't buy so suddenly I had to edit all scenarios in RW Tools which I could have avoided!

Yet you appear to be going around sending private messages to try and police and moderate the forum. Terrible.

The sale is over so the thread is locked.

Leave the moderating to the moderators and everyone will be happier.
