LNER J21 (NER Class C) by Victory Works/Steam Sounds Supreme

Post by karma99 »

https://steamsoundssupreme.com/lner-j21-pack.html

The LNER J21 (NER Class C) by Victory Works is now available over at Steam Sounds Supreme.

All of the advanced features you would expect from any Victory Works locomotive, with simple and standard driving modes as well to make our engines fun for anyone to drive.
The pack includes compound, saturated and superheated versions, 10 eras/liveries covering over 70 years of history and a new set of Clerestory coaches.
Lots of details on the packs content and information on the entire build are available on the Victory Works blog including a link to the manual if you'd like to look at that before buying.

I thought I'd start a separate thread for this loco leaving the Victory Works thread ready for new WIP content.. next up, the WD 2-8-0 :D

Just installed v1.1. I hate to say it but the window issue is still present... it's smaller now but still quite apparent...

No longer available through Steam then I assume, so no scenarios will become available to download?

Hi Antony,

There is a very informative manual to be found in the usual place (in the TS2019 Manuals folder), it is listed under "LNER J21 Manual" and well worth a read.

ARGHHHH, what an idiot I am! I know exactly why that is, I forgot to include an updated animation file when I packaged the update, which moves the offending object.
This is all caused by the fact that if you place 2 objects with a translucent texture near each other then they cause rendering issues with each other. It's also a by product of the hiding system for cab objects that means even when hidden they're actually still in existence and if you hover over where they exist then you still get a control name pop up so you have to create an invisible proxy object and then physically animate it into and out of sight of the player as it's needed. But you need to make sure that nothing with a translucent texture is behind it (i.e. a window) or it creates a rendering problem.
The easiest fix would be to not have so many options on my locos and just make everything really simple.. but where's the fun in that?! :)

I'll get the missing animation file over to Matt on Monday.

If your locos didn't have so many options, they wouldn't be a Victory Works loco!
Oh and options are always good.

Hi
I really like the extra options you give us,it enables us to run in different era's ,we might have the odd hiccup when you first release them, but you usually manage to sort them out, when some one mentions them to you.
Keep up the good work, now a plea for us LNER fans can we please please have a J39 the work horse of freight trains, and seen all over the LNER/BR system
Thanks

Mike

Well said Mike, this would be a very useful addition to the steam Loco fleet.
