Where do they come from?

Post by locomotiveman1994 »

Hullo!
Just spotted these trucks in my asset list while creating a scenario on the Whitby to Pickering Route:
20190514160207_1.jpg
They're listed as (from left to right/back to front):
  • Standard BR FishVan White
    Standard BR FishVan dirty
    Standard BR FishVan Insulated
    Standard BR Van Red
Does anybody know where they come from?
Much appreciated!
Greetings from the continent,

Have you done a search in your Assets folder area, just type into the search field FishVan and see if anything pops up, it will tell you the folder they are situated in, Kuju RailSimulator, or, a 3rd party developer.

No need. I know they are repaints of the original Kuju 'StanVan'. But where do the repaints come from? I can't remember having downloaded them somewhere intentinally...

They look like old repaints, they are either in the UKTS Freeware Packs :: UK Wagons #1 or they are on one of the many websites around for Kuju reskins over the last 12 years, and I've had a look to see if I have these installed myself, but, I don't, I'm afraid, so, let's hope someone else recognises these for you.

The Red Van is from

.

I have the others but haven't recorded where they came from - I don't think they are in the UKTS Freeware Wagon Pack, so I'll search through my downloads and see if I can find the fish vans.

I'm sure I've seen that repainting done before, on a aggregate hopper, possibly, they look like something from Railworks Depot, but, Clive sadly passed away last year, so, the website has been shut down. Who was that other chap who did reskins of BR wagons, Jay Wilcox was it, he left the scene as well several years ago, so, it's something that might not be retrievable any more, just a thought......

I've searched through all my saved downloads and I can't find the fish vans - let's hope someone else can.

Some may be, but defintiely not all. The second from the camera, and the furthest (I think) are not. They are probably the Blue Spot Insulated Fish Vans that were once available from Digital Traction. I think that they used to form part of the 2P 4-4-0 pack, but not for a long while now.

I can ashure you, they are repaints of the Kuju BR Standard Van. They disappear when I untick the Kuju box, and reappear when I tick it again. It's impossible for them to be from the 2P 4-4-0, as I don't own that one. Unless you mean the 2P Compound, where again I know to 100% they do not come from.

DT's Blue Spot fish vans look different (see picture, recessed door, no corrugated steel ends).

I am pretty certain that Steve is right about the 3 white variations. Jay Wilcox did quite a few reskins - they all had a slightly solarised appearance to them and were pretty bright. I have got them in my Assets but I can't find the original downloads...

None of them are the DT fish van
