Looking for a new route

Roger, I am back to suggesting the Potteries Loop route. There are plenty of BR and LMS era activities and ALL of the stock needed is included.

I would second the suggestion for the briscard 6 route, but would also mention Dorset Coast V6 (and the DC Tours activity pack).

The latter route covers all (I think) of the SWR 3rd rail network and some extra unelectrified lines such as Basingstoke to Salisbury and Reading to Basingstoke etc. Gives plenty of scope for passenger and freight activities.

I have the Skipton Carlisle 1930s route and also the Thames Trent v. 1, and greatly enjoy both, but I recently felt an urge to try a new route. I started by looking at the download library for activities. I wanted a route with a lot of activities available. OK, first problem. My first three choices seem to be payware. Normally I don't use payware, because I'm retired from the Army and my pension isn't all that wonderful (I retired when we still had the draft, so salaries were not high). Mainly, I can't even find where I could buy these routes. I'm looking at Cambrian 2, Great Eastern Activities, and North Wales Coast. Then I tried North West England. It's freeware, but the archive files seem to be damaged some way. I was finally able to repair them with WinRAR, copy the route into my Routes folder, and run the InstallMe.bat, but the route did not appear in the MSTS menu.

The last one that attracted me shows activities under the heading GWR Paddington Penzance, but I don't find any such route. There's a GWR Toddington, but I can't tell if that's the route these activities are for or not. I'm reluctant to install the route and then find there are no activities for it. I would appreciate advice. What's a good UK route? I think a Scottish or Welsh route would be interesting, but I'm not very choosy. A route that has both passenger and freight activities would be nice, too. Please help me out here.
