GUVs from BR Blue/Class 67 packs in Royal Mail livery?
Have anyone reskinned the GUVs included in the first BR Blue, or the 3rd Class 67 (the one with one of the South Wales Coastal routes) into the red Royal Mail livery? (I.e. this livery)

AFAIK non of the GUVs were painted in Royal Mail livery in Real Life.
Most of the vehicles in Royal Mail colours were for use on Postal Trains where staff on board sorted the post en-route
The lack of Gangways on these vehicles would have prevented that

According to Paul Bartlett's site, there seems to have been at least some GUVs in Royal Mail livery: https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/brnpc ... 8#h108fee8

Also this one: http://www.railfaneurope.net/pix/gb/car ... /94009.jpg
OK, it is not "proper" Royal Mail livery, only the stripes, but it seems to have been made to match the Royal Mail livery?

I think there are some GUV skins as part of the Curnet Valley line download but they are skins as in pres so they might not suit

Surprised there hasn't been a intercity motorail skin either, that was the last livery I can remember them running round with

Didn't know they were there, many thanks for pointing them out, look really nice, would anyone be able to say if you could put a skin over the body side to model the high security roller door late RES versions

Did GUVs ever get the roller doors? Wasn't it only (ex-)BGs?31160 wrote:Didn't know they were there, many thanks for pointing them out, look really nice, would anyone be able to say if you could put a skin over the body side to model the high security roller door late RES versions

No there were a few done, as you say the BG Van's were also done but unlike then all the body side doors went as did the end connection doors and all that remained was plain metal with the RCH cables

Aha! Thanks for that. First time I've seen a pic of a GUV with roller doors (and I don't remember seeing any in the flesh, so to speak). Good to know.

In theory there should be no reason why a child object couldn't be applied, the bigger problem being producing that object.

The only reason I mentioned it at all Gary was when they had the rollers fitted most of the detail on the coaches was removed leaving them almost blank metal sides, apart from the doors of course, also with the BGs most of the detail bits whent the same way
