With no personal information disclosed I expect Trev--sure, there have been breaches, and we all know the press loves to make any story as big as possible, but in real terms social media isn't a huge gathering of crooks all trying to access your bank account etc.
The biggest problem with sites such as Facebook, or rather the groups who've set up 'shop' on it is when those groups are made private and you only see what's available if you're a member. I don't have a problem of needing to be one of the "in crowd" to participate or download (that's how this place works!) but it would be nice to be able to visit such sites and see what's going on. The commercial organisations using FB however tend to be open, and we can all pop in (it's not hard to create a bookmark for all your favoured sites) as and when we like to see any announcements that have been made public.
So, let's not get all worked up about social media; let those who want to use it do so, and those that don't be allowed to ignore it if they want. It doesn't need a big debate, it's just personal choice, essentially no different from me not having any Armstrong Powerhouse sound packs because my personal choice tells ne I don't feel that strongly about sounds--you all may think I'm misguided and wrong, but as I'm a Yorkshireman I
know that it's you lot that have it the wrong way round
