Well, Sir Betjeman would have been pleased and would recognised many of the distinctive features of the Metropolitan line.
As did I, just done the 17:40 Marylebone to Aylesbury run, twas a summers day, and it is just about real as it gets, I really enjoyed the run.
The scenery is good, very good indeed, I got a frame rate of between 38 – 41 average but they did dip down to 18 ish when the new tiles loaded. If, in the drivers view, you tilt down to see the track only the frame rate goes up to 60/70 so it is the lineside trees knocking the frame rates, there are a lot of “forests” either side of the scenery too. I’m not clever enough to make any suggestions other than to ask are 2D trees, as in earlier scenery, better on the frames than 3D. I don’t like the 3D anyway and hope that a replacement file becomes available from our friend in the EU.
Only one thing confused me, I found the signal JB92 and JT80 showed Red trackside but Green on the 2D map, someone’s wired up the bulbs back to front!!

This is certainly one of the best sceneries currently available and shows TS2018 off really well. The thrill of turning right at Willesden and following the GCR to Aylesbury is something I’ve waited for a long time. Imagine, express steam trains on their way to Nottingham etc. used that line.
Thanks JT and the team that built it. Nothing less than brilliant and a wonderful opportunity now to add some of the Mets branch lines, maybe even Quainton and the East/West line and you have another revenue stream. I’ll add the two MOD depots!

Please do file an issue with JT support for this, if you haven't already :-)

Thanks for the kind comments John,

That signal was fine throughout building testing,I will take a look at it as I think it gave me a red the other day strangely.

Can someone please check the quick drive consist for the Class 121 Bubble car Chiltern blue livery to check it as for me the consist is showing as empty despite me having the Class 121 from DTG and the reskin for the Chiltern blue livery being installed correctly, I have submitted a support ticket but they don't seem to understand what I am trying to tell them so if someone could confirm and if the consist is faulty pleas also submit a support ticket too JT that would be helpful thanks in advance.

Dave. I have tested Chiltern Line and Class 121 Bubble. in Standard and QD.
First just check that WE have the same class 121's in our TS.
I seem to have 10 options over 2 directories.
Stock List Class 121 Bubble 10 items.jpg
Funny thing is first time round looking both Class 121 had a thumbnail

Next time round only one did !

I've also had a go at the 17.40 Marylebone-Aylesbury but had a red and found on the 2D map the preceding train, 1V51 just sitting at signal JT81 showing green, with my arrival time something like 00.18, strange. I'll have another go.

Dave. It gets confusing (for me)
Just dealing with Chiltern Line STANDARD scenarios first. (to prove the model)
I have 6 scenarios ALL load and run Green or Blue Bubble
Sometimes the Bubble has passengers sometimes not , depending onthe scenario.
20180703094653_1.jpg
Quick Drive. If I select the only Chiltern Line Bubble offered to me in QD
IT WILL NOT LOAD AT ALL and crashes my TS !!
20180703095705_1.jpg
It will not run on any other scenery either.
All other Bubbles run fine in QD AND have passengers.

Hope this helps

The class 121 I am referring to is the class 121 reskin in Chiltern Blue livery in QD there is no thumbnail showing and when I try to run a QD it comes up QD failed to load, I checked the consist for it in the QD by choosing to edit with the TS2018 QD consist editor and it shows up as an empty consist there is nothing there I can add the class 121 Chiltern Blue livery to the consist using the editor.

Just to clarify the JT London to Aylesbury extension DLC, comes with the Class 121 in Chiltern Blue and a retro BR green livery reskins both are installed correctly it is just the QD consist for the Chiltern Blue livery that is empty for me at least the retro green one is ok.

So if I understand you correctly.
Green Bubble works in QD - That is correct - and has passengers
20180703132138_1.jpg
Blue Bubble in QD Crashes Trainsim - That is correct
20180703132304_1.jpg
? So if it crashes TS in QD :o how do you know it does not have any passengers :-?

Because in Standard Scenarios ALL Bubbles have passengers, UNLESS the scenario deliberately STARTS with empty stock :D

I think we are at cross purposes here, the problem I am having is due to the QD consist for the class 121 Chiltern Blue livery not actually having a Class 121 Chiltern livery in it the consist is completely empty in that it does not contain any actual stock nothing to do with passengers, now do you get me sorry if I caused any confusion.

No I dont think so.

The Blue TJ Chiltern livery Blue Class 121 Bubble DMU does NOT work in QD. It crashes the Game

The Green one works fine

Oh ok, sorry, it was the bit about passengers that was confusing me, when all I asked was the Class 121 Bubble car in Chiltern Blue livery QD consist causing the game to crash, but thanks for confirming.

As I siad I have submitted a support ticket to JT if others who have expeienced the same issue could do so too, if they haven't already that is.

I was thinking of purchasing this extension as I already own the Chiltern Main Line for many months now, but to be honest I just can not enjoy this route no matter how hard I push myself to like it, the route is very sluggish in places, so for me it spoils the driving experience, I also have a disliking of those trees and the bits of grass, they just do not look right, specially when I'm driving during the winter, spring and autumn times. The platforms at Marylebone Station stick out like a sore thumb, are they really that colour, no, I've been there many a time.

Despite my negative points, which I apologise for, there are so many positives about the route, stations look great, buildings, signalling, track work etc. I can see a lot of time and effort has been put into this route, I hope I have not upset anyone, but there is always room for improvement, which is the main reason for my post.

Hopefully the trees will be sorted out in all good time, Just trains are really pushing TS to the limits, but it's an old game, it has it's limitations, but how far can they push things. I sometimes wonder if having these extensions is a good thing, I can not imagine how many headaches these extensions have caused for all concerned, maybe it might be better to release them has separate routes only.

How many people are going to drive from Paddington to Penzance when the Cornish Main line is released? not many I don't think, that's over 7 hours of continuous driving.

And it would be interesting to see what DTG would make of Western Mainlines and Chiltern Main Line if these routes were to be re-released via Steam, how well they would these function, and what would be left out or changed.

I hope I have raised some interesting and good points here.
