how to create slopes for terrain?
Hi everyone does anybody know how to create slope bankings? I have been trying to do them in mostly large fields across my route to line up with my track as it looks in real life but unsure how to do it can anybody tell me how it's done so I can neaten up the terrain. Cheers, Ian.

There are a number of lofts that you can use to create embankments or cuttings - these are best laid by using a suitable offset from the track. I assume that you have created your landscape using the DEM or other suitable data to give the basic terrain, and wish to smooth it. In the paint menu, there is a "smooth" tool which will do just that (you can set the tool size, but 60-100m produces good results). If you wish to create a slope, then lay a road in the direction of the slope, and use the loft tool (looks like an angle, last icon in the lofts menu) to lift the far end (and lower the near end). You can then use the "snap to road" button and move along the road. Again, you can set the size of the brush. Move the road further to the side, and repeat. Finally, remove the road!class1987 wrote:Hi everyone does anybody know how to create slope bankings? It is the text from the former Wiki. Up to date formatting but unfortunately still without images, at least in this section.
There are tutorials on Youtube.
Where the zigzag of the 8m terrain grid is to disturbing, turn to loft. There are some here at UKTS, also in one of the Freeware Packs.
A search for "embankment loft" will yield details on them.
