Class 90 Greater Anglia Repaint TS2018
Hi All,
I downloaded the Abellio Greater Anglia Class 90 repaint pack but, despite following the instructions to the letter including un packing the archive, I must have done something wrong.
The loco appears in the list and I can create a consist but when it loads, I have the cabview, but the loco doesn't appear in the external views other than a few odd bits of bogie detail floating in mid air.
Can someone please give me a heads up on what I might be doing wrong and how I might get it working properly.

Hi
It would help if you told us where you downloaded the Greater Anglia repaint pack from.
If it's from the UKTS file library could you give us the file id number please

Hi,
Unfortunately you haven't told us where you downloaded the Class 90 Greater Anglia re-skin from, but what you have probably missed is copying the required .geo files into the new folders.
Check the download you made for a "Read me" document or check where you got the download from, where it may tell you what .geo files are required.
Come back if you are still unable to sort it out, but tell us which file you downloaded and where from.

Re: Class 90 Greater Anglia Repaint TS2018
What's the UKTS file number for it?---with that somebody will be able to check properly.
There should be no need to unpack the .ap archive; extracting a copy of the .GeoPcDx file from the archive into the reskin's folder is all that is usually needed. As you aren't seeing the 'shape' of the loco have you done that? The floating 'bogie bits' are most likely the couplings, that's what normally only shows if the .GeoPcDx isn't present.
EDIT: is it

Hi All,
Thanks for the replies.
It was indeed 52377 downloaded from the files section here.
That'll reach me for posting on my way to doing something else...

Re: Class 90 Greater Anglia Repaint TS2018
That's the one Gary.
No the Installme.bat didn't work
but not quite as simple as just copying the .GeoPcDx files though.
The file structure is different to the files in the .ap file, more conventional with an Engine folder.
Having installed the Albelio from the UKTS download you will find two .bin files sitting in the APWaggonz/Class90Pack01/RailVehicles/Class90/Abellio Greater Anglia folder that need to be dragged into the Engine folder along with the two .GeoPcDx files from Class90GAAssets.ap/RailVehicles/Class90/GreyLED .
This gives you an engine you can load in sim, but leaves you with missing textures (Bogies etc. and the driver).
You therefore need to copy the Common folder from the Class90GAAssets.ap file to Abellio Greater Anglia/Common (I suggest not overwriting anything as you may alter the textures for the Albelio - sorry, but I couldn't be bothered trying to establish exactly what was required) and also Characters from the Class90GAAssets.ap into the empty Characters folder now sat in RailVehicles outside of the Abellio Greater Anglia folder...you now have an engine with with a full complement of textures and that obeys all instructions to move.
Trouble is, so far, I have no lights (in cab or out), though everything else works (may be because I haven't checked the original APWaggonz manual). Anyone like to take over?

Re: Class 90 Greater Anglia Repaint TS2018
Having a different file structure should make no difference; as long as the installer puts things in the right place of course. Why not just copy the whole default folders, renaming it to suit, then edit the .bin files accordingly and lastly just copy the textures from the reskin?
Re: Class 90 Greater Anglia Repaint TS2018
I followed the instructions to the letter but came unstuck at the common folder stage. My download has nothing in the common folder which might explain the trouble I'm having ?

I agree - as long as all is placed where it should begptech wrote:Having a different file structure should make no difference; as long as the installer puts things in the right place of course.
The engine doesn't appear in sim with the two .bin files and two .GeoPcDx files sat in the main Abellio Greater Anglia folder.
I doubt the installer was intended to lift the two .bin files outside of the Engine folder into the Engine folder and copy across the .GeoPcDx files, but who knows...

Re: Class 90 Greater Anglia Repaint TS2018
My general rule when noticing a rolling stock issue is to stop, run RW tools to see what stock the scenario uses, then check each to see if it's DTG or third party stock/skins and reinstall the latter reading the Readme document. It takes a while but I'm paying the dividends as I rarely encounter errors now.

As I stated in my response to the same query you raised on the Steam forums before you run the .exe file to install this reskin you have to extract the .ap file using a program like 7Zip into the Class90Pack01 folder. If you then run the installer the new folder will be created and any necessary files copied over.

Re: Class 90 Greater Anglia Repaint TS2018
People are talking about copying Bin and GeoPcDx files but there is not mention of any of this in the Readme.
The webpage says "If using the included self installer the Class90GAAssets.ap file must be extracted beforehand. (located: RailWorksAssetsAP_WaggonzClass90Pack01)."
So I did, ran the Installer and I have the loco in both the ADV and HUD versions

Re: Class 90 Greater Anglia Repaint TS2018
The reskin probably uses two duplicated Geo shape files from the Class90GAAssets.ap file and the most efficient way to do this is to extract the entire contents of the .ap file thus duplicating hundreds of megabytes of data across hundreds of individual files. And people wonder why using third party things can sometimes lead to them having reliability and performance issues with TS?749006 wrote:People are talking about copying Bin and GeoPcDx files but there is not mention of any of this in the Readme.

Re: Class 90 Greater Anglia Repaint TS2018
I'd amend that to
"the most efficient way at the time the reskin was produced was to ...........
......but now we know how to use the 7-Zip standalone routine this extraction is no longer needed---the required files are extracted and pasted into the correct location by the combination of 7-Zip and a .bat file"
Peter, the webpage really shouldn't be seen as a ReadMe/instructions file; does the download include a *proper* set of instructions?---the use of the word "if" suggests it's just one of a number of alternatives outlined.
Don't forget that an incorrect manual extraction of a .ap archive (dead easy to add an extra folder) will screw the whole thing up.
