Mexborough is in South Yorkshire, on the line between Sheffield and Doncaster. The closest location in TS world would be Wath Yard on the Woodhead route, a few miles to the west. Mexborough locos would have bee seen there, bringing in coal from the various mines in the vicinity.
Expanding the TS wagon fleet.

I found 51F had 7 allocated to it,which is West Auckland so ideal for the Weardale Route, looks like 51L Thornaby had a large allocation of them.

Bought in steam sale, lovely loco to drive and look at, always liked the looks of of the locomotive. Its easy to drive and even in advanced mode its not especially over complicated to drive and steams well.

I do have two issues, though they are more related to sound than anything. Chuffing sound is extremely quiet compared to other victory works releases, above 15mph the chuffing beat goes really quiet to the point it can be drowned out by the wagons the Q6 is pulling, it doesn't seem to be the typical directional sound drop off due to TS2018s sound engine, just the recording of the sound is really quiet/volume on the sound files is set to low.

The other sound issue, the rod clanks when coasting I can only hear in-cab, outside its as quiet as a funeral parlor, this has appeared in a few victory works releases before, so not sure what that could be.

So 8.5/10 for Q6, just the sound issues bring the score down slightly in my "ears" as I do enjoy a good throaty chuff beat on freight locos.

West Hartlepool 51C was the last outpost of the Q6 and WD in the North East which were all withdrawn en masse when the shed closed 9.9.1967. All of the locos went for scrap. As a point of interest, two Q6's were shedded at Kirby Stephen 51H for a few months to work mineral trains to Tebay, so therefore suitable for The Stainmore Route, but they both derailed and were sent back to Darlington for repair never to return.

Regards, John.
