Difficulty in trying to select a Signal

Post by 749006 »

On the new Woodhead route there is a Signal at Godley Jn which stays at Red as you approach and go past it and it does not show in the HUD
I'm pretty sure the Signal link is wrong but I cannot to click on it to find out - every time I try I end up picking some scenery or something else.

Is there an easy way to grab hold of it?

Thanks

Place your cursor at the base of the signal, and hold the left mouse button down as you slide the cursor slightly (creating a loop). On release, it should be selected. The links should appear

Nick

PS If you still appear to pick scenery or lofts, "switch them off" by temporarily renaming the folders

Re: Difficulty in trying to select a Signal

Hi Nick,

As usual I seem to be doing something wrong
I could not seem to pick anything where I wanted to edit - the lock is off

So plan B
I extracted Rail Network, Scenery & Stations. I then renamed Scenery to Scenery Old
And I only extracted Junctions, Signals, Track and Track Rules to the Rail Network Folder
I then moved the WoodheadBRAssets.ap to a different drive.

When I try to edit the route I don't have the Signals but just a lot of graphic distortion in the area.

I can only think I have done or not done something but I don't know what?

Any suggestions please

Make sure the content folder isn't read only, that'll most likely be it.

Thanks :)

That was the thing I was doing wrong.
Problem with signal solved - the track link for an Up Line Signal was in the Down Line so it never cleared and did not appear in the HUD.
Fixed by moving the link

Peter, glad you got a solution. I was just in the middle of coming up with a possible, more complex, explanation.

Nick

PS Remember to add this in your report to DTG on all the errors in the route

I already sent them one a few days back before I found this one and the problem at Dunford East.

Might have to send another

That signal caught me out too until I noticed it was not showing in the hud, then I just assumed it was for the other track.
