rosschris10 wrote:well i guess we just need to wait until the product is released. Its no use mentioning about sounds etc until it is released.

One thing i am confused about and i would be grateful if someone could help is the difference between the "2 volumes" as they are called. Is it like an old era and newer era kind of thing or am i missing something. I can remember the old thameslink versions that where navy blue with a yellow and white stripe. Then FCC took over with there purple striped livery. Is it a variation of like eras between the 2 packs ??

many thanks

Volume 1 of our Class 319 Electric Multiple Unit Pack will focus on the class between the beginning of this decade and the present day where many changes have taken place. To name a few:

- Refurbishment of cab to modern standards & fitment of GSM-R

- Refurbishment to comply with imminent PRM (Persons with Reduced Mobility) legislation (disabled toilet installed with resultant window configuration changes, LED destination displays & compliant door open/close alarms)

- Cascade to pastures new with London Midland & Northern

Splitting the class into two volumes has allowed us to home in on the detail and many variations this class has experienced over the years which simply wouldn't have been viable in a single pack. We look forward to showing you these!

Two new videos.

First one demonstrates the ability to open/close the cab door:

And the second shows the passenger view, including the doors opening and closing in the passenger view as well as outside:

I hope this is a temporary solution to end the constant bitching on this thread. I knew Richard’s announcement of the new 319 would divide the community. Please reply if you tested this freeware item without the AP sound pack.

From AP's comments on Facebook this is going to be a standalone product, not requiring the DTG 319 at all. I wonder whether it will still give sound support for the DTG product (like the AP 142 pack sound supports the DTG 143), or whether it will cut the link with the DTG 319 completely.

It being a new product I would expect the link to be cut. The 456 doesn't provide sounds for the DTG IIRC, so I would expect the same here. As I recall there were numerous complaints about the DTG model on release, a look in the archives would confirm, here and on Facebook. But we still seem to have a popcorn thread needing the mods attention. Volume 2 will be closer to my interests I think.

The AP 456 page says it supports the DTG 455/8 and the Thomson 455, although the AP 321 page makes no claim to support the DTG model.

The AP456 support of those packs relates to being able to couple to them and have the correct simulation throughout the train, nothing to do with sounds.
And in fact I don't believe any file in either 455 pack is modified to do the job.

You clearly know better. THIS IS AN EMU PACK NOT A SOUND PACK. SO HOW THE HELL CAN A STANDALONE ROLLING STOCK ITEM REQUIRE A PIECE OF DTG ROLLING STOCK, except for sounds. But regarding sound support I think it’s unlikely due to the different scripting between the two products. But if i were able to experiment by copying over some proxyxml’s and simulation bins then i will share my results (although i don’t have the 319)

Seems like something to look forward to, and judging by those vids the complainers have just had their negative speculation balloon burst! Plus the question has been answered to my original query.

That is because the AP 456 is a Sound Pack and the AP 321 is a totally Stand Alone product where you don't need to own anything apart from TS201x

The AP 456 isn't a sound pack it's also a standalone product. As mentioned above the 455 compatibilty is supposed to be for coupling.

I am starting to like this myself tbh. Jordi is one of my favourite 3rd party developers anything Jordi has done in the past I have always found to be fantastic. The only thing I still do not like is this new AP thing of selling various versions of a product as the costs soon rack up.

Be careful with comments like that or you will have the don’t like it, don’t buy it brigade down your neck!
From what I can see , it looks brilliant and very well put together. But volume 1 seems to be showing off the northern livery “spec” a lot, just to confirm if you buy it, and what’s been said about the included 6 scenarios, am I correct in applying that if you don’t make any scenarios yourself, be it to lazy or just think if am buying something I should be able to use it as it’s intended (delete as appropriate) the northern 319 that’s been widely shown around will be defunct and sit in your library like most of the other packs with enormous potential but little delivery ?
Here’s hoping the enormous selection of livery’s will be put to good use by the community on steam workshop for the enjoyment of many people who just like me are to “lazy” to make our own....oh wait.....
Looking good though AP
