As long as this new offering has a PTFO with the panto as a named node(s) there should be no reason why the same couldn't be done. If anybody wants the files (and pretty vague instructions  -- we've slept since) to have a play about with just say so.

Morning,

Is anyone else having issues with FPS with the 390? I played the first scenario included, FPS ranged between 15-20. Usually on Trent Valley I’m around 25-30 roughly. I then used RWtools to swap the stock (old 390 to new 390) in an old scenario of mine and the FPS won’t go above 15. The scenario is now laggy as hell.

I’ll be sending an email over to DTG support in a bit, just curious if it’s just me or has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks

Johnny

I think Trent Valley as a route is very demanding and not the best performing unfortunately, probably because of the overhead lines. Maybe FPS tanks with the new 390 because of the extra scripting involved? I haven't tested thoroughly, just a quick 5 mins with it last night and FPS wasn't great but then never has been with this route.

Scroll down on the Steam DLC page for the updated 390 and you will see a 30% off Bundle giving you the new 390 for £10.99 - the standard Bundle offer is for both old and new 390s at £14.99.

I would certainly agree the FPS is a bit of a challenge. I had created a scenario for the WCML over Shap route using the new Pendolino but found it more or less unplayable with FPS stuck at 15 whilst I was in Preston. I had 4 AI Pendolinos set up to encounter on the way and changed those back to the older Pendolino saving the new model for the player train only. That at least made things playable and to me would suggest it is the scripting that is having an impact.

Same here. All my old scenarios that I've swapped with the new 390 are practically useless now. Sent a support ticket to DTG about the issue this morning and encourage others to do the same.

Think I will stick with the original, unless they sort those all too familiar issues out? :-?

Same, making a scenario from London Euston to B'ham using the 390 and after placing 4 AI 390's plus mine I was lagged all out. I have just put the older 390's in for the AI's and now my FPS have gone back to normal.
Cheers, Robert :)

....sort those all too familiar issues out
There's a reason why these issues are familiar---we want more advanced/interactive/complex models so we get them.....but there's no such thing as a free lunch. When features are added the PC has to power those features....
With more and more rolling stock arriving at a higher quality than ever before, this strain has never been felt so much.....
