Does anyone know how the numbering works? With 5205#NN, what do the other three characters mean?

Will post further when I have a real 'feel' for how it all goes.

But is this new black 5 worse than other steam locos in terms of performance?
This is a complex loco to drive if you aren't au faix with driving a steam loco, having like me preferred to use simple control and enjoy the scenery!
It is without doubt in a different league to the 'old' Kuju and it's make overs.
I have manged a run using a combination of F$ HUD and 'real' footplate controls on the Riviera Line. I have experienced varying stutters when viewing from the line-side .
Panning and going into the smoke badly affects the stutters. However in cab and on the r & l head out views the stutters are minimal. The more complex
the loco becomes it follows that a low spec computer won't cope. I am satisfied though and need more experience driving this loco. The sounds are excellent and a vast improvement
on what went before.

Maybe a quick message to BG with your computer specs asking for their comments on suitability might help you?
Cheers

These days rolling stocks are made to support higher GPU usage. High detail models, more number of textures.

Is there no "simple" mode for this loco? If not, I don't think I'll buy it.

£14.99 (GBP 14.99)
Or Euro 19,99 :-? If that is the case then the € price is high and DTG/Steam is not using fair exchange rates.
Or $ NZ 24.79. :)

I was trying to substitute this in place of an old model in a scenario. I unpacked the .ap file and whilst the relevant folders show in RW Tools nothing appears when I select Steam to see a list of the locos etc. Therefore unable to use RW Tools to swap them. Have sometimes had this issue with other stuff and wondered if there is a simple answer.

Sorry if you have already thought of this but have checked the unpacked files are not "read only"?
As I find if I unpack a AP file that they are set to "read only" for some reason. :-? :o
However it mite just be my PC! :D

Sorry, I see this was discussed earlier in the thread and the answer seems to be "maybe".

Anything more definite than that?

Read only files is what can affect RWTools ability to list the loco? I'd be surprised but I will try when I get to it...

You can also swap the locos in the regular scenario editor... :D

Yes, I know, but it takes much longer. I also got a dump crash when trying to do this in one of the wlos scenarios yesterday.

I agree with you. I don't want to spend my time in the cab. I want to recreate what I remember which is watching the scenery go by and viewing the passing trains.

You are right!!! And it is not even all the files you need to untick as read-only, just each model's bin file(s)!

Thank you very much for this great advice!
