Or Euro 19,99 :-? If that is the case then the € price is high and DTG/Steam is not using fair exchange rates.
'Why is it that the railway station is so far away from the village?'
The local pauses for a while, then replies:
'They thought it would be a good idea to build it next to the railway line.....'

I wonder if there is something VAT related or exchange commission charge by STEAM or something.

Or just an old school pricing error? Euro 19.99 is equivalent to GBP 17.99, which is where DLC of this quality and features would normally be placed. Buy before they find out!

Hardly, VAT is very similar in all EU countries, just several % differences. And 11.99 GBP products from DTG are priced at 13.99 EUR.

Just purchased and won't operate in 'simple mode' F4 HUD - this was asked in a post on BG's fb page some while ago and the reply was that
it would be possible to drive from the HUD? Just checked the manual which has no reference to driving in simple mode and co-incidentally has a lot of heading typo errors.
Have posted on BG fb and will await a response.

I will hold of buying this loco at present, advance mode is to hard for me to use it just scrambles my brain.
Seems I will just have to soldier on with the good old Port Road one and the Kuju one

The exchange rate anomalies are a Steam thing and it's been there for years. Users in some countries take a hit, users in other countries buy at what seems like an enormous discount.

Not really a "Steam thing", publishers define the prices for each region.

I looked at the manual online a couple of days ago and it did say the loco would not be compatible with the F4 HUD or simple mode driving? I'd have to search for the exact reference but that's what I recall reading.

They actually don't, not by default, it is entirely a "Steam thing". When you submit a game and price it in your currency, Steam makes a suggestion for all regions. A publisher can override these values if they wish but you want to be entirely sure before you accuse Dovetail of doing this. Just search on Steam at the plethora of £14.99 titles (I just looked at 10 examples) and see that they are also €19.99 and $19.99, it's the default value suggested by Steam for that price point.

Thanks to Bossman Games for their help! It is possible to bring up F4 HUD but the game control must be set at expert.
I will need to read fully the manual as when you scroll on the lights a number of prompts come up right screen including
'assist level' 1 to 4. I have got the loco moving in game on the s&c albeit in the dark at 03.00!

What about performance (FPS), Tom? Is it about the same as with the latest VW products or worse?

J S Tange - Still getting to grips with the loco.I use an elderly VAIO Intel i5 Nvidia GeForce with windows 10. Find that I get stutters with some locos
but usually dependent on complexity of surrounding scenery. Haven't really got to grips yet so I assume modern spec computers will fare better?
Will post further when I have a real 'feel' for how it all goes.

Downloading now. Although I should probably have sent that TS2018 update to the back of the queue...

But is this new black 5 worse than other steam locos in terms of performance?
