You can swap things about with the scenario editor function in RW Tools, very handy if you don't have the stock item the scenario as written calls for; or just as easily use the game's own editing tools--for this though you would need the original stock installed.
Do you have RW Tools installed and have you ever used the game's editors?

Thursday 17th and counting......! Stand by for major collapse of infernal technology as I predict this will
be the download to end all downloads. It would be interesting to know how many downloads for the Black 5
take place in the first 24 hrs from release but that info is commercially sensitive. RW Tools will be working
overtime (well it will be me really!) as I swap all the 5's in various scenarios!

I would suggest testing a few scenarios first before doing a wholesale swap and cloning scenarios would be a good idea leaving the originals unedited just in case...you can always delete them after. I find that more convenient than going through a series of .bak files in an altered scenario.

Spot on Rod! Always keep a back up of the original if you 'mess about' with anything in TS!

Hi gptech, sorry but I think I am out of my depth here, I have no idea if I have RW tools installed and I have never used the games editors. So when I buy the new Black5 loco I will play it with the scenarios as it comes. Thanks very much for your advice.Peter.

It isn't something that gets installed by accident, so it's a fair bet that you haven't installed it---not something you'd forget doing! :D
The game's scenario editor isn't hard to get to grips with, so if/when you feel the need to 'have a dabble' with it just ask in the forum and we'll walk you through things one step at a time.

So it seems it's coming today. Bossman Games also made the manual available two days back. One thing that is probably missing is a possibility to evaluate the amount of coal in the firebox visually as we are used to with VW products so that you don't need the F4 or F5 facilities and can drive totally without them. Of course the black 5, on the other hand, includes its own auto fireman so this is a reasonable compensation perhaps.

Can I ask the moderators to change the topic title? It's a bit weird with that question mark now. My proposal is:

Bossman Games Stanier Class 5 (Black Five)

(please also note there's a single n in Bossman)
