Has anyone taken a look at these tools? They look intriguing. The map tool follows your train on a map and allows you to add POIs for yourself, ostensibly to help with route learning and scenario creation. The Radar and Community Radar tools allow you to see yourself on a map through a browser and others in the community too, all in real time, which seems much more like fun.

Interesting, not my cup of tea admittedly but interesting. The blog post about the radar thingy is worth reading... https://thirdrails.wordpress.com/2017/1 ... ool-chain/

Re: ThirdRails Map, Radar and Community Radar
I've looked at the radar now and again but often there was nobody on when I checked and 1 person if I was lucky. Just checked now and 15 were on. It is very interesting to look at, seeing what routes people are driving and more interestingly, the stock they are driving at the time. I'd say the more people that run this tool the better!

Have downloaded and played TS with this running. Quite good.
Suffers from the same problem as TML in that going South to North
or East to West (or the other way round!) the 'pin' is at the rear
of the train. Still ran TML in the background as I like its auto AWS
cancelling function.
And as an aside, but on the subject of trains and maps, try this
to watch all trains in Norway... http://togkart.banenor.no/

Asus Z97-K. Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4 GHz. 3GB NVidia EVGA GTX780Ti. 16GB DDR3 RAM. Sound Blaster Z. Windows 10 64 bit.
2x960GB SSDs, 3x2TB internal HDDs and 2x1TB & 1x2TB external HDDs.
Running TS @ 3840x2160 on a 4k TV.

And to go further afield, watch much of the world.davep wrote: And as an aside, but on the subject of trains and maps, try this

It normally has the UK included, but the feed seems to be broken and there are UK alternatives.

As I type this there are currently 22 live on the map, fascinating to see where people are driving and what stock they are using.
